2. 600 B.C.
In 600 B.C. the Celts moved over the Alps into Italy. Historians believe the Celts moved into Italy because they were becoming overpopulated, and also because Hellico had brought back wine and dried figs from Rome. Because they liked these new things, the decided to head south.
3. 400 B.C.
This is when the main migration of the Celts over the Alps took place. Before this, the Celts had been trading along the Danube.
4. 390 B.C.
Because the Etruscans feared the expansion of the Celts, they asked Rome to help them hold back the Celts from taking over their territory. According to Gerhard Herm, the Celts met with the Roman envoys and decided to exchange land throughout the battles. The Celts met the Romans at the Allia River (Battle of Allia) and brutally beat the Romans.
Some of the Roman soldiers drowned in the water while trying to escape the crazed Celts.
5. 340- 125 B.C.
Many battles between the Celts and the Romans take place. Some of these include the Battle of Vadimonian Lake, and the Third Simnite War.
6. 55 B.C.
At this time, Ceasar launched an armed reconnaissance to mission in Britain.
7. 52 B.C.
Vercingetorix is defeated by the Romans because of their unorganized tactics. They ran out of resources in only five days and after this, Gaul finally became Roman.
8. 431 C.E.
Palladius is ordained by the pope Celestine and is sent to be the first bishop of Ireland. He was originally sent to Ireland to counter the Pelagian heresy.
9. 680- 810 C.E.
The Book of Durrow, Book of Armagh, and the Book of Kells were written concerning the history and tales of Ireland.
10. 1921 C.E.
