“Gianluca’s role here was to be an extra pair of hands and to socialise with our members. Gianluca dances with members when we hold our weekly dance classes and makes a huge difference to them as we are lacking in male dancers. He is super patient and really listens to the dancers. Gianluca is really appreciated by all of our members as he is generally kind, helpful and easy company.”

Campaigns and Action Group

David “Old people can often be made to feel invisible, impotent and ignored. Being a member of CAG makes me feel anything but: this bunch of able articulate people, between 65 and 85, keep an eye open for anything, from pavements to pensions, welfare legislation to waiting lists, that may affect older people - and are always ready to campaign actively for needed improvements. Being part of CAG is a great way to remain an active, effective and visible member of the community.”

Every Volunteer“Every volunteer makes a difference to the life of the older person they visit. Medical and dental appointments, going out for coffee to a local café, reading books to people to enable them to remain part of a book club when sight is failing, raising issues about inappropriate or inadequate social or medical care, and of course the weekly visits to those who are completely housebound provides invaluable company.”
