A message from Susan Birnie, Provincial Commissioner

What an exciting year 2017 was for Guiding in Ontario and Nunavut!

Look at all these wonderful experiences girls had at events. Multiply that by thousands for all the awesome unit activities that partnered with these.

• Thank you to all our girls for being so courageous and challenging themselves.

• Thank you to all the parents who believe in the value of the Guiding program.

• Thank you to all our adult members who planned all of these experiences.

Through a coordinated community planning and marketing program we saw 10,075 new girls join our fabulous programs.

• Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made this happen.

Conversation was initiated with the membership around the viability of camp properties.

• Thank you to everyone for their patience with this decision making process.

Introduction of the tiered cookie selling program resulted in a 3% overall growth in cookie sales.

• Thank you for the valuable feedback which is being considered for future campaigns.

September saw us celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canada with many of our sisters.

• Thank you to the planners for all their work coordinating.

• Thank you to the Unit Guiders for organizing the girls to join.

• Thank you to all of the girls who enthusiastically participated in all of the program activities that were available.

Each year we receive stories of the impact Guiding had on current and former members. I know that 2017 will have generated such stories as well and it is thanks to all that we can make that happen.

THANKS TO YOU FOR...
