The Mid-Autumn Fiesta celebration is a biennial event jointly organized by the school and Hillview @ Elias Residents’ Committee. This year, the celebration took place on 29 September 2012. The event was graced by our Grassroots Advisor, Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister, National Security & Minister for Home Affairs and MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. Visitors were treated to a night of fun, food and games. Besides performances by our pupils, there were food and game stalls, art exhibitions, displays of our pupils’ innovative products using the innovation tool - SCAMPER, mooncake-making, tea appreciation demonstrations and not forgetting the highly anticipated lucky draws. Children and adults alike also had an opportunity to carry their lanterns around our neighbourhood in a mass lantern procession.

MID-AUTUMN FIESTA Another integral part of the fi esta was the P5 Children’s Market. It has been a platform for pupils to demonstrate the qualities of innovation and excellence. This year, our Primary 5 pupils went through a revamped Marketing & Entrepreneurship programme that aimed to inculcate in them the essential skills and values of an entrepreneur. Our pupils transformed themselves into young entrepreneurs through the exposure of the 4Ps of marketing – Product, Price, Promotion & Place. During the Mid-Autumn Fiesta, they set up stalls offering a variety of products, services and games. Pupils came up with innovative marketing strategies to sell their products and were in high spirits throughout the night. It was indeed an enriching experience for them.

Broadwayand Little Stars

The long awaited “Little Stars” and “Broadway” were held on 2.11.12 and 9.11.12 respectively. The P1 and P2 pupils showcased their talents through drama activities which were aligned to our school shared values such as resilience, respect and courage to explore while the P2 presentation focused on environmental conservation. After months of perseverance and diligence, the P1 and P2 pupils performed and captured the hearts of their audiences, which included family and friends, through their lively performances on stage.

Pride and beaming smiles were evident on the parents’ faces as their eager eyes searched for their beloved daughter or son on stage when the curtain rose. They were not disappointed, for indeed their little ones were the LITTLE STARS for that night!
