CDM experience / lessons

Experience and lessons of EB may be drawn as inputs for JISC:

Operational Procedure: similarities (committees’ rules of procedure or determination process)

Accreditation practice: similarities (similarities to industry practice / similarity to CDM process)

Methodologies: similarities (Concept of having reductions that go beyond what would have happened otherwise (additionality requirement))

General experiences and lessons: Informal meetings, small group meetings

CDM experience / lessons

General experiences and lessons: Mobilize financial resources to ensure full operation: call

for donation by the Chair and Executive Secretary

Establish a mechanism to ensure long and stable financi

al flow: share of proceeds (SOP) will, over time, provide

predictable resource flow, and is more stable than Party

contributions. It is important!

Some suggestions or observations: EB and JISC may hold joint meetings to share experience

s and lessons, and jointly find solutions to difficulty issues

Ex EB members/alternates may be encouraged to be elect

ed as members/alternates

Ex EB members/alternates may be invited to act as memb

er of panels/WGs/teams so as to contribute their experienc

es to JISC.

JISC starts its work in good conditions as

experience is available: some former Board

members are part of JISC, secretariat supports to

both bodies/institutional knowledge, direct

communication with EB is well feasible.

Strong wishes that JISC would achieve its goa

ls and objectives, and would ensure that the GHG

reductions of JI projects are real and measurable!
