Purpose

DesiredOutcomesIt isourhopethattheinformationfoundinthisreportcanhelpbringinsightintowaysthatdistrict leadershipcanhelpimproveprocessesaroundCollegeandCareerReadiness. Inparticular,wehopethatwhatisprovidedinthereportwillallowyoutoreturntoyourteams andhelpshapeaframeworkforimprovingdesiredoutcomes relatedtoCollegeandCareerReadiness.

ExecutiveSummary:

AswelooktobetterunderstandhowCollegeandCareerReadiness(CCR)isevolvingwithschooldistricts acrossthecountryandhowtheycontinuetomakeanimpactonreadiness,it isimportanttodeterminethecurrentstateofthevariousCCRinitiativesfromalevelpriority, measurementandeffectivenessperspective.WhileaCCRsuccessframeworkmightlookdifferentbydistrict, thissurveywasdevelopedinanefforttogaininsightintowherethegapslieandopportunities whereadditional guidancecouldbeprovidedtodrivegreaterimpacttostudentreadiness.

Thequestionsaskedarefurtheroutlinedinthereport; however,thebasisbehindthemweretounderstandthelevelofpriority, effectiveness,desiretoimprovemeasurementofthesekeyinitiatives.

Ofthosesurveyed,theinitiativesthatreceivedaweightingofhighestpriority were:providedatatocounselorstohelpprioritize support(100%),improvethenumberofstudentsenrollinginpost-secondaryeducation(92%),improveaccesstocrucial datametrics(92%)andreportingandtocultivateacultureofhopeandaspirations(92%).

Thelowestweightedinitiativesbyprioritywere:Increasesoftandnon-cognitiveskilldevelopment(42%),increasescholarship awards(50%),IncreaseSAT/ACTscores(58%)andactivatePBISactivitieswall-to-wall(58%).

Thelargestgapsseenbasedonthelevelofpriority andthelowerpercentagegiventotheeffectivenessoftheinitiativeswere:improvethenumberofstudentsenrollinginpost-secondaryeducationandcultivatingacultureofhopeandaspirations.Whiletherecouldbemanydrivingfactorsinfluencingthisoutcome, furtherassessmentifthesegapsisneededtounderstandtheimpact

Theinitiativeswiththelargestgaprelatingtoawarenessaroundpriority, measurementordesiretoimprovewerescholarships,parentengagementandsoftskillandnon-cognitiveskilldevelopment.

Thefindingsofthesurveypresentagreatopportunityfordiscussiontodeterminewhysomeinitiativesarereceivinggreaterpriority thanothers, ifthereareanyaddressablegapsandhowdistricts cancontinuetoimplementstrategiestoimprovetheimpactofallCCRrelatedinitiatives.
