Table I - Changes

• Per PC request, TC reprioritized Category III projects

• Identified projects to be initiated in 2004, 2005, 2006

• Changed title/scope of III-3 from ‘Ground-Truth the Roadway Network’ to ‘Update Intregated Transportation Network.’

Table 1 - Additions• Added 7 new projects (total $835k)

• Basic Database support on consent calendar. Future improvements still under consideration

• Replacement of NOAA earmark is consent calendar item

• Need for further validation of meteorological models identified and placed on consent calendar

• For Deposition Study and Long-Term Measurement Network, contracting out designs and cost estimates recommended. Request approval to develop RFP/RFQ

• Enhanced funding for conferences/publications proposed

Informational Items

• Processing of Seasonal Ozone Modeling contract on hold until NOAA funding issue resolved

• TC may recommend termination of one CCOS contract

• TC feels US EPA should include California specific items in their research agenda. This would require future fundraising (CCOS earmarks for EPA)

• There are sufficient funds to complete current CCOS projects. However, TC remains willing and enthusiastic to carry CCOS process further depending on availability of future funding.

CCOS Modeling Update• Of the three CCOS episodes, July-August 2000 is only

modeled episode currently available for SIPs

• Of several modeling efforts, only ARB modeling results for that episode satisfy EPA requirements

• Modeling of September 2000 episode by Alpine Geophysics (03-01CCOS) unsuccessful so far

• Modeling of June 2000 episode not currently active

• ARB modeling of non-CCOS July 1999 episode shows promise, but it’s unclear if acceptable modeling will be available in time for current SIP development
