You can choose several objects to monitor in a NetWeaver system; I have my own favorite list of those objects I think are themost important and useful to monitor in a system, and they are:

Now select from the matchcode for the R3System parameter value and hit the button.

Your new monitor definition based on rules should look like this:

Please remember that we are creating a Rule Based Monitor , we need to make sure NO object has been checked fromthe tree.

The next step is to create the Virtual node to group all the MTEs that we should select from the MTE Classes shown in point a.To do this, click on if it is not already selected and hit button from thetoolbox icons, you will get the following dialog:

Now select and hit the button.

In the field write something like: Test Rule Based Monitors and hit the button.

Now your monitor should look like this:

Now click under Test Rule Based Monitors to select them and then hit on choose and hit

button.

On the next screen select as the rule name and the hit the button.

Now we need to add each MTE Class from point a. to the following screen on the parameter value, select all of them and hit button.

At this point your monitor definition should look like this:

The next step is to include all already defined in point a. you will need to repeat these steps for each additionalClass you want to add to the monitor set.

After all classes has been included into the monitoring set hit the button from the toolbox.

You will be prompted for a monitor name, write something meaningful.

The new Monitor Set should look like this:
