Saint Patrick’s Day

“very Happy” for

“Grand Slam Ireland”

Ireland ignited the St Patrick's Day celebrations by

sealing the third grand slam in their history as England

collapsed to a 24-15 defeat at Twickenham.

A record-extending 12th successive Irish victory was

sealed at a canter as a 21-5 half-time lead in south

west London established an unassailable position to

elevate Joe Schmidt's class of 2018 alongside the

heroes of 1948 and 2009.

England, under former Wallabies boss Eddie Jones,

have descended into crisis as their 14-Test unbeaten

home record under the Australian drew to a close, in

the process registering a third successive loss and a

first championship defeat at Twickenham since 2012.

"We knew it was going to be a really tough task to

come here and win, said Ireland captain Rory Best.

"Words can't describe how delighted we are with that

win but also the Grand Slam”.

Wales defeated France to finish a distant runner-up.

England finished second last.

This year’s Australian Celtic Festival will take place in Glen Innes from 3rd to 6th May, 2018.

Each year a particular Celtic nations is celebrated’ In 2016 it will be Brittany (France) and extended to include Galicia and Asturias (Spain).

About the Festival Every year crowds descend on Glen Innes (population 9000) for the Australian Celtic Festival. They are attracted by the unique Celtic experience, the opportunity to meet with friends and to enjoy famous country hospitality.

The Festival attracts clans, cultural groups, dancers and performers from around the world. Visitors experience Celtic music and dance at four stages at the Festival’s main venue, the Australian Standing Stones, and in many venues around town.

The Australian Standing Stones are an array of granite monoliths often shrouded in autumn mists. You definitely don’t want to miss rising at dawn and to listen to the haunting skirl of pipes amidst the stones.

The four day Festival features entertainment that includes a street parade, kirking of the Tartan, massed pipe bands, re-enactment village, buskers, workshops, yard dog trials, children’s entertainment, a fun run, dancing, flag raising ceremonies, poet breakfasts, market stalls and Celtic foods.

Each year’s Festival celebrates one of the Celtic nations.

The 2018 Festival will honour Brittany, Galicia & Asturias and will run from Thursday 3rd May to Sunday 6th May with a few surprises planned.

Come experience this unique Festival in the spectacularly colourful Autumn that is a highlight of the cool New England climate.

Those who attend will be rewarded with a rich experience of Celtic culture in many forms.
