Body of Evidence

is a collection of information about student progress and learning. This information incorporates data from multiple sources and multiple assessment tools/methods. No single data point is adequate for a body of

evidence. The convergence or triangulation of data guides a team of parents and professionals in making educational decisions such as:- prescribing/developing interventions, assessing

progress, and possibly determining disability status or access to other eligibility‐driven services.

Triangulation

a powerful technique that facilitates validation of data through cross verification from more than two sources. In particular, it refers to the application and combination of several research methodologies in the study of the same phenomenon Cohen and Manion (1986) define triangulation as an

"attempt to map out, or explain more fully, the richness and complexity of human behavior by studying it from more than one standpoint."
