Graphene is a totally new material,derived from graphite. Its basic structu-re is formed by carbon atoms set out ina hexagonal shape. This creates layeredstructures (like a honeycomb) of a thickatom whose interrelation, along withthe Van der Waals forces, achieve amaterial up to 200 times more resistantthan steel, and is extremely light.This material exhibits enormousmechanical resistance and some uniqueelectronic properties. Its extraordinaryproperties and its potential technicala-pplications have made graphene one ofthe most active research fields in mate-rials physics.

El grafeno es un material totalmentenuevo, derivado del grafito, y tiene unaspropiedades fsicas y qumicas muyinteresantes. Since last year, the Catlike R+D teamhas been collaborating with researchersfrom the University of Granada to studythe performance of different materialswith cycling helmet shapes in the wind

tunnel located in CEAMA (Centro Anda-luz, Spain.The main variables of Wind Tunnel testsare aerodynamics and ventilation.Catlike used this data to develop RAPID,a helmet that offers excellent perfor-mance and supreme aerodynamicswithout losing ventilation.

Desde la primavera del ao pasado,Catlike est colaborando con investiga-dores de la Universidad de Granada parael estudio del comportamiento dedistintos materiales y formas del casco

de ciclismo en el tnel del viento ubica-do en CEAMA (Centro Andaluz de MedioAmbiente).Las principales variables que han entra-do en juego en los ensayos en el tuneldel viento son aerodinmica y ventila-cin. El departamento de I+D+i deCatlike se ha servido de estos datospara trabajar en el RAPID, un casco queofrece un rendimiento ptimo, combi-nando de la mejor forma posible unabuena aerodinmica sin tener querenunciar a la ventilacin.

T.T. helmets with a long tear shaped tailare very aerodynamic in ideal conditionswhere a rider is able to keep their headstraight and looking up at all timesduring a race. But once a rider looksdown or to the side, the long tail sticks

out into the air and creates a lot of drag.Recent research suggests that the bestdesign for a T.T. helmet where the ridermoves their head a lot is a shorter, morerounded tail that is aerodynamic in allconditions, not just when the ridershead is up. This is exactly what theRAPID helmet is designed for:maximum aerodynamics in real worldconditions.

Los cascos de contrarreloj con cola, danunos rendimientos aerodinmicos muybuenos, cuando el ciclista adopta unapostura aerodinmica perfecta, sinmover la cabeza. En cambio, especial-mente en carrera largas, la mayora de

and protection (in different weather conditions like cold, wind

or light rain) taking care of ventilation and airflow.

With the VD2.0 Shell, we have created the perfect accessory

for Mixino with Graphene Nantoch, it permits better aerody-

namics, avoiding dehydration due to lack of ventilation. The

VD 2.0 Shell provides:

airflow, due to the 2 frontal intakes, which permits a

continues airflow in the lateral areas

ventilation, due to the openings in the back part of the

helmet, which make the air circulation possible.

El Caparazn VD2.0 es un accesorio que aporta aerodinmica y

proteccin (ante situaciones meteorolgicas adversas como fro,

viento y lluvias dbiles) cuidando ventilacin y transpiracin.

Con el Caparazn VD2.0 hemos querido crear un accesorio para

el Mixino con Graphene Nanotech que permitiese conseguir una

mayor aerodinmica evitando problemas de deshidratacin
