Chapter 1 – Memories of Me

with the last part of the chapter. Holden makes some very clear statements on war.

Holden meets with his advisor from the Whooton School, Carl Luce.
We see Holden’s immaturity and his desire to learn more about intimacy

he heads out West Something bad written on a school wall Phoebe meets with Holden and wants to go with
him A carrousel ride makes Holden start to cry

It has the bells that a carrousel would have and then goes out of control, similar to Holden at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 26 - Greetings from California
The reader is returned to Holden where he began telling the story
