Background information

This catalogue was produced by the Slovak Business Agency /SBA/ within the frames of the project Management Training Programme (MTP) - Capacity Building for SME Management in Uzbekistan. The project is implemented from August 2013 until August 2016 thanks to the support of the European Union. It is executed by the consortium led by European Profiles S.A.(Greece) and consists of WYG International Limited (United Kingdom), CCI Paris Ile-de-France (France), Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (United Kingdom), PLANET S.A. (Greece) and Anticrisis Management Consulting (Uzbekistan). The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a local project partner.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the performance of the SME sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan. In order to achieve the goals of the project, as one of the project components, it is planned to organize practical internships in the EU companies for selected managers from leading Uzbek private sector companies.

In June 2014 SBA organized an informative seminar in Bratislava which focused on the perspectives of doing business in Uzbekistan. The aim of the event was to inform Slovak firms of the support provided by Slovak business support organizations and the European Union when establishing business cooperation with the companies from Uzbekistan. Slovak companies were encouraged to start exploring the fast-growing Uzbek market of 30 million consumers.

The Slovak companies were included in this list based on their participation in the informative seminar and/or their registration in the Database of International Cooperation managed by SBA. The data included in the list will regularly be updated so that listed companies receive updates on business and technological cooperation in Uzbekistan including offers on hosting managers from Uzbek SMEs.
