During the performance of projects NWT offers its customers truly comprehensive services, which include the elaboration of initial studies and economic models of projects, elaboration of all stages of project documentation, provision of engineering services and the necessary permits and decisions, assistance in securing financing from banks and co-financing from EU funds and turnkey constructions. After completi-on of the project NWT provides compre-hensive service, monitoring, accounting and other services. Much of the work and services are provided directly by our em-ployees - NWT has a stable and experien-ced team of designers, project managers, site managers, technicians and engineers.

Biogas plants NWT offers the construction of turnkey biogas plants (BGP). We are experts in both industrial installations and the implementation of agricultural biogas plants. NWT offers its own conception technology, project documentation and software for BGP control systems. During the project the customer obtains all of the pro-ject documentation from NWT in open formats and the source code of the BGP control software. They will therefore be less dependent on the supplier of the technology in the future.

Greenhouses

The trend in Europe is the consumption of fresh and local food. The Czech Republic and Slovakia, however, are totally dependent on foreign imports especially in the case of fruiting vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers). NWT offers the construction of industrial heated greenhouses for the hydroponic growing of fruit, vegetables and flowers. Turnkey constructions are performed from the initial study phase through assistance in obtaining funding and grants, elaborati-on of all stages of project documentation to the con-struction work itself. NWT also offers services in the operation of greenhouses - providing advice on cul-tivation, supply of materials for cultivation, assistance in the sale of products, etc. The key conditions for the performance of a successful and profitable project are in particular a cheap source of heat (the required temperature of the heating water is min. 50 ° C) and flat land for the building (possibly agricultural land). In terms of infrastructure, it is necessary to build a sto-rage hall, employee facilities, access roads for supply trucks, a boiler room and electrical connections (po-wer output in the range of tens of kW). Funding from the Czech Republic (SAIF) and Slovakia (PPA) is pre-pared for the actual construction of the greenhouses.

Photovoltaic power plants

NWT has extensive experience in the field of photo-voltaic power plants (PVP). We specialize in both large industrial installations with hundreds of kilowatts to megawatts, as well as small solar power plants on the roofs of family houses. We have completed over 400 PVP projects with an installed capacity of over 60 MWp.

Selected references:

• PVP Domaželice, CZ (power output: 999 kWp, year of connection: 2009),

• PVP Pozořice, CZ (power output: 4 596 kWp, year of connection: 2010),

• PVP Plachtince, SR (power output: 2x 998 kWp, year of connection: 2011),

• PVP kalinovo, SR (power output: 1996 kWp, year of connection: 2011).

Landfill gas and waste cogeneration

NWT deals with the degasification of communal waste landfills, as well as landfill gas utilization and cogeneration. The gas from communal waste land-fills, mainly containing methane and carbon dioxide, can be used as fuel for cogeneration units to produce electricity and heat.

Selected references:

• degasification of the landfill kuchyňky, Zdounky, CZ (power output: 320 kWe, year of conn. 2008),

• degasification of the landfill Henčov, CZ (power output: 204 kWe, year of connection: 2012).

Gasification of biomass and waste

We currently have two gasification of biomass and waste projects in the implementation phase with a total power output capacity of 1 MWp per generator. Gasification of biomass is the process in which de-composition and disintegration of the input material occurs through thermochemical reaction. The gene-rated energy can be used for heating and hot water or for process heat (e.g. for drying etc.).

The Energy Division offers complete servi-ces in the field of renewable energy and energy savings to both legal and physical entities. The aim is to design an environ-mental friendly solution that will lead to maximum customer satisfaction. Special attention is devoted to photovoltaic po-wer plants and accumulation of the ener-gy produced, voltaic and thermal heating of water and heating using thermal heat pumps. The energy division provides a comprehensive range of services from the elaboration of feasibility studies, propo-sing the appropriate forms of financing, to complete turnkey delivery and installation.

Photovoltaic power plants – the facts

The main advantage of this type of power plant is that all of the electricity comes from solar radiation. Photovoltaic systems (panels, inverters) are used to convert sunlight into electrical energy, which works in harmony with nature. Photovoltaic power plants have become very popular in recent years. Photovoltaic po-wer plants are constructed in three basic phases.

First there is the preparation phase, in which the inten-tion of those interested in the construction of power plants is evaluated. It is necessary to take into account the location of the construction, the compass orienta-tion, the slope of the land and the impact of the solar radiation. Equally important is the current condition of the roof and its possible reconstruction. NWT is a partner of a major manufacturer of waterproofing ma-terials. The choice of how to offer the purchase of the electricity generated is also important. It is necessary to ask the operator of the distribution system to be connected and apply for planning approval.

Second there is the project performance phase. Each project requires an individual approach, it is therefore necessary to select the panels, inverters and structu-

two basic systems - air/water and ground/water. Only by analyzing your intention can we specify which system is best for the given situation. In practice, the use of heat pumps can reduce the energy intensity of buildings by up to 60%, and if a photovoltaic power plant is also connected it is possible to attain an ener-gy balance comparable to a passive house.

Intelligent systems

NWT is facing the next important step in optimizing its production process and energy consumption. Appliances will be connected to an intelligent cont-rol unit that can assess the production of the power plant, both in terms of the actual situation and accor-ding to local weather forecasts (for example, three hours ahead). For long-term production above 2,000 W, this unit can then e.g. turn on a washing machine or a boiler, etc. Imagination in this case knows no li-mits - the aim is to consume most of the electricity produced directly at the point of production.

References:

NWT knows how to build electrical power plants. It builds large installations on the roofs of industrial buil-dings and houses. The fact that NWT knows how to build the electrical power plants is backed up by more than 400 completed electrical power plants with a to-tal power output of over 60 MWp in the Czech Re-public as well as in Slovakia, England, Croatia and the Ukraine. All of our references are available for review at fotovoltaika.nwt.cz.

A newer and more modern approach is to heat wa-ter using photovoltaic panels, strictly speaking, using a direct current, which provides a number of advan-tages. The direct current is led from the panels directly to the boiler, where the heating takes place. This elimi-nates the potential danger of the collectors freezing in the winter or overheating in summer. It is an elegant solution for heating water, which works even at low solar exposure and low temperature. An alternative is to complement the existing and functioning photo-voltaic power plant with an intelligent control system for the surplus electricity, which can then be used for heating utility water.

Heat pumps

This is probably the only way of reducing heating bills compared to gas or electric heating. Heat pumps are a technology that combines the convenience of gas heating and the cost of heating with wood. There are

res that best suit your needs. For small roof-mounted photovoltaic systems the implementation takes seve-ral days. Large industrial electrical power plants take approximately 2-3 months. The last phase is connecti-on to the distribution network.

For advanced optimization a battery can be integra-ted into the process, which can consistently utilize the electricity. This solution can minimize the dependen-ce of the customer on the distribution network, since the energy produced through the day can be consu-med at night or during bad weather. In specific cases, the customer can be completely separated from the network. NWT is a direct distributor of station batte-ries for the Czech and Slovak markets.

Heating hot utility water energy by solar energy

There are currently two ways of heating water by so-lar energy. From a technology point of view, the older version is heating using photothermal collectors. The collectors absorb a large proportion of the solar ra-diation, which gradually heats the liquid, which then accumulates heat in the tank with the help of a circu-lation pump and associated piping.

The Energy Saving Division specializes in high-quality, low-energy LED solutions for offices, industrial buildings and public li-ghting, and also alternative power sources, such as the patented thermoelectric gene-rators and hydrogen fuel cells.

Industrial LED lighting Industrial LED lighting is the most comprehensive and most reliable replacement to traditional sodium, mer-cury vapour, halogen and mixed lamps. It is characte-rized by minimal power consumption (saving up to 80% of the cost), very low failure rate, long service life (over 50,000 hours) and maximum safety. NWT supp-lies LED lighting to all industries. We supply both in-dividual LED tubes and whole industrial LED lighting with IP 20 to IP 65 protection.

NWT provides complete services from project work to installation and subsequent maintenance and moni-toring of the lighting.

Public LED lighting We supply lighting for all kinds of public spaces, from the lighting of roads through parks to sports grounds.

Research and development project: thermoelectric generators

A thermoelectric generator (TEG) is an electrical de-vice that produces electricity based on temperature differences. TEG operates based on semiconductor prisms. This technology achieves higher efficiency and power output compared to thermocouples. TEG works independently without any power supply.

Ways of use

TEGs can be used wherever there is sufficient radiant or contact heat (e.g. hot surfaces of boilers, chimneys, fireplaces, and other sources of radiant and contact heat). To obtain electrical energy it is enough to attach the TEG to the bottom surface of the heated or radiated object with a temperature of 150 to 250 °C and connect the electrical terminals of the TEG to the powered appliances. The TEG will provide power until the surface temperature drops below 180 °C.

Benefits of public LED lighting:

• Lower overall cost of operation and maintenance of public lighting.

• Long lifespan of the LEDs ranging from 50 to 100 thousand hours.

• Color temperature of LED for use in public ligh-ting can reach values of up to 6,000 k.

• High operating efficiency - up to 98%.

The IT centre provides structured cabling of represen-tative areas or common office space from designing the distribution to certified measurement. Virtualiza-tion of the servers, desktops and applications, allows the client to better utilize its hardware, reduce costs, facilitate operation and administration, and provide greater flexibility of work. The department is a certi-fied service centre of branded IT equipment from lea-ding producers. It offers administration and servicing of desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones and offers solutions, supply, installation, administration and servicing of servers and data storage. Outsour-cing provides remote supervision of the entrusted infrastructure. The service department manages IT throughout the Czech Republic and other Central Eu-ropean countries.

ging operational situations. Each piece of technologi-cal equipment needs the appropriate care and servi-cing in order to provide the optimum power output. Regular maintenance is often required by financing institutions to guarantee care for their investment. The division has experience with equipment with an installed power output greater than 4.7 MW. The total administered power output is over 70 MW.

Programmers

The division has its own development team that spe-cializes in modern programming tools for developing customised information systems, creating speciali-zed applications, websites, business intelligence and smart reports. These include in particular the EVEZA and PAVEZA applications, designed for use in public administration.

PAVEZA is an Intranet application which provides con-tracting authorities with a very effective electronic tool facilitating the preparation and administration of public tenders. EVEZA is a tool used to create profiles of individual announcers of public contracts (munici-palities, hospitals, public institutions, state enterprises, etc.) and also to publish documents on the announ-ced public tenders.

The division is intensely focused on the implementa-tion of software for customer relationship manage-ment in the form of the application Microsoft Dyna-mics CRM. This application is a universal solution for managing customer relationship, which provides all the tools and functions needed to create and main-tain a good overview of customers - from the first contact through sales to aftercare.

Cloud solutions

NWT is also a leader in the provision of cloud solu-tions. The services division, which possesses exten-sive know-how in information technology, also offers cloud services (cloud.nwt.cz), which are currently popular in the area of IT and allow small companies access to previously unaffordable technology. Great emphasis is placed on maintaining the security of transmitted data. Communication between clients and servers in the cloud is always encrypted. Modern data centers resistant to errors and outages provide a contractual availability of 99.9% and meet the strict standards of ISO 20 000, ISO 27 000 and EU regulati-ons.

Servicing of renewable energy sources

The RES centre provides complete servicing and sur-veillance for biogas plants and solar power plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The surveillance centre provides monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The primary objective of every investor’s elect-rical power plant is for the project to be sustainable throughout its lifespan with an emphasis on the maxi-mum possible yield of installed power output.

This requirement can be met if the production proce-ss of the biogas or photovoltaic power plant has mini-mal interruptions or restrictions to the power output. This can be achieved through continuous monitoring, diagnostics, comparison and rapid response to emer-

In 2012, NWT applied for funding from the “Operati-onal Programme Enterprise and Innovation” progra-mme “ICT and Strategic Services - Call III, extension”. The grant application was approved and in the fra-mework of the project NWT purchased a building of a former grain silo in Zlín and the surrounding land. In the same year an architectural study elaborated by three architects was submitted for the conversion of the building. The chosen proposal was by the young architect Ing. arch. Ladislav Semela from Luhačovice, who then worked with us on the elaboration of fur-ther stages of the project documentation. The main idea was to maintain the shape of the object including the positions of the original windows and the typical Bata colour scheme and combine them with modern elements - glass walls on the ground floor and new windows in the offices. These new elements were not added without reason, however, as they meet the ne-eds of the new function of the building.

At the beginning of 2013 a tender procedure was held according to the rules for the selection of supp-liers for the preparation of all stages of the project documentation. The winning tender was submitted by the company Centroprojekt. After preparation of the project documentation, building permission was obtained in the autumn and a company was selected

based on a tender according to the rules for the selec-tion of suppliers for the reconstruction work.

The reconstruction work and the selection of supp-liers and supply of technological parts of the project will take place during 2014. When completed, the building in Zlín will serve as the strategic service cent-re of NWT with the potential for further development in the future. The centre will help create at least 40 new jobs in the fields of accounting, finance, admini-stration, human resources, administration of informa-tion systems and sophisticated creative activities such as the work of graphic designers, animators, planners, engineers, etc. In terms of capacity, the building is de-sign to house up to 300 workers with a modern and fully backed up data centre, which will be combined with the technological facilities for the placement of antennas on the roof of the second tallest building in Zlín. Catering for members of staff will be provided by dining facilities on the ground floor, and around the building there will be almost 100 new parking spaces on land owned by NWT.
