Quote by Birkholm introduces original hand crafted furniture and interior design from India made from raw recycled wood. Every piece tells a story, every table is natural, every chair is rustic, and every cabinet exudes simplicity.

Our exclusive textiles are in a league of their own. Take a few hundred used, colourful saris, an Indian underprivileged woman and leave her to stitch them into the most beautiful, unique bedcover. All of our textiles are hand sewn from reused fabric by these villagers, who have no other means of income.

Saree, a traditional garment for Indian ladies. Indian ladies have been wearing Saree since centuries. Every part of India has some special style of sarees which are known by different names. Although India has modern weaving machines these days

The Sarees, used to make this Bedcover are also made on Handlooms. The main \iber used to make these Sarees is Silk and Cotton. After the ladies wear these Sarees for a few years, they sell these Sarees. The same are used as Patchwork to make these Bedcovers.

After joining/stitching different patches as a Bedcover, this is sent to villages where the ladies stitch by hand to make this beautiful Bedcover. Normally the ladies in villages are free in the afternoon after completing their daily chores. So by doing this job they utilize their free hours and earn some money as well. It takes them a couple of weeks to make this cotton Bedcover.

I managed to get hold of these fantastic handmade silk bedcovers for a double bed in the size 220x270 They come in a vareity of beautiful and bright colors.

The villages of India have a high rate of illiteracy among women, and so they have very few opportunities to be \inancially independent.They are hand-‐woven and hand-‐stitched out of used silk from the Indian Sarees.

The women are very proud of their craft and are deeply grateful for the opportunity to display their handicrafts and earn some money.

Our bed covers will always be limited edition, we can only order 50 pcs. at the time, because it takes a woman one month to sew an entire bedcover.

When I travel around and I visit our various suppliers, I \ind so many wonderful old vintage things which I could \ill several containers with.

I've ordered some of those things, however they all come in small quantities, since it all depends on how many of each product is being found.

Therefore, there will only be a few of each product, however somethings might come back with a different look, others can't no longer be available. Either way please contact us if you are interest in any of these things.

Our Scrapwood series is made with respect for our nature and therefore based on items made from recycled wood.

The wood obtained are from windows & beams of old houses and also from old colorful Indian trucks.

I it torn down washed treated and then transformed into beautiful furniture and fun gadgets, you can use in your home, cafe or shop.

Scrapwood is collected all over India, and have different colors, depending on which area and what kind of building it comes from. Therefor your table or bench can be made of different type of wood, which over time have different strength and look.

This make every product unique, and you will see a difference in the color from product to product.

Our suppliers try to make it as close as possible to the photos displayed, but due to the variation in availability of wood, they use the best out of what they get.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. Offers

These Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to all sales of goods by Quote by Birkholm (hereinafter called QUOTE), unless waived expressly by an agreement between parties in writing.

An offer is only binding when QUOTE have forwarded the \inal order con\irmation.

2. Purchase Orders & Order ConLirmations

Product orders are placed through e-‐mail to [email protected]

It is buyer responsibility to check the order con\irmation and to highlight any possible errors, no later than one day after receipt.

QUOTE cannot be held liable for any possible error in the order con\irmation.

3. Terms of Delivery & Time of Delivery

Delivery is ex. stock from QUOTE'S warehouse unless anything else is arrange. With partial deliveries, it is possible to receive an invoice per delivery. Backorders are delivered as per agreement with buyer.

Should buyer not be able to receive delivery as agreed, buyer must undertake the consequent expenses that may arise in this connection until buyer agree to accept delivery on the agreed terms.

4.The First Order from QUOTE

As a new buyer with QUOTE, buyer’s \irst order must amount to a minimum of DDK. 3000,00/EUR. 400,00. If the order amount is to less than what is speci\ied as minimum, QUOTE will automatically increase the delivery to the indicated minimum delivery quantity.

As standard, a new buyer must pay 100% in advance when the order is placed based on a Pro forma invoice paid no later than 10 days from issuance. The products ordered will be reserved for the buyer for the duration of this period. Should QUOTE not received payment, the order will be canceled. The order will be sent from our warehouse as soon as we receive the payment.

5. Bank Transfer

Timely payment of goods from Quote shall take place within the date stated on invoice.

Remember always to state customer name and invoice no.

In case of no or late payment, interest will be calculated from the due date at a rate equivalent to 6% over the Danish National Bank's current discount rate.

6. Prices

All QUOTE’s prices are exclusiv taxes and freight. If not otherwise agreed, all prices are those valid at the time of ordering. If there are changes in Prices and Terms of Payment

or QUOTE'S purchase prices, exchange rates, freight, duties, taxes and the like, QUOTE reserves the right to regulate the prices with a corresponding increase, with a notice of 10 days

7. Shipping Terms & Transportation Damage

The risk of delivery passes to the buyer as of the time of surrender to the carrier.

It is buyer’s responsibility to check the goods for visible transit damage or defects immediately upon delivery. If this is not possible, buyer must in writing make reservations for any damage or defects occurred during transportation. Damage or defects occurred during transportation are entirely the responsibility of the carrier and QUOTE can not be held responsible for this.

8. Property Rights

All deliveries belong to QUOTE until payment, incl. interest and costs, if any, are paid.It is incumbent upon the buyer to protect QUOTE's property rights, until the goods belong to buyer.

9. Complaints

If the claim is not covered by a transportation damage, QUOTE is to be contacted immediately by e-‐mail ”[email protected]” with an attached photo of the damaged goods. Packages returned to QUOTE as a result of a complaint must be wrapped in the original packaging; the freight costs shall be covered by the buyer. Visible damages must be noted immediately, hidden damages must be reported within seven days of receipt.

10. General Limitation of Liability (including Force Majeure)

QUOTE shall not be liable for failure in performance due to force majeure, war, riots, terrorism, piracy, vandalism, civil unrest, government intervention, strikes, lockouts, export and/or import bans, missing, incomplete or late deliveries from suppliers, lack of manpower, fuel, power, processing or testing accident, mobilization, currency restrictions, lack of transportation or unusual natural phenomena or the like that is beyond QUOTE’s control or that can cause delay or prevent the production and delivery of goods

If defects or timely delivery is temporarily hampered by one or more of the above circumstances, the delivery time shall be deferred for a time period equal to the period of such excusable interruption, and the time of delivery of the postponed delivery shall be deemed timely in every respect. In the event that the delivery would be expected to persist for longer than three months, QUOTE would be willing to cancel offers submitted.

11. Product Liability

If one of QUOTE’s goods, delivered or installed, causes personal injury as a result of a defect product, QUOTE’s liability is only to the extent of the liability according to the general terms.

QUOTE shall not be liable for damage to movable or immovable property. QUOTE are not responsible for any form of loss of pro\its or other indirect loss suffered by the buyer or third party.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights to QUOTE's trademarks and designs are owned by QUOTE, and buyer can only use them after QUOTE’s prior agreement in writing.

13. Information & Product Information

QUOTE is not responsible for any errors in price lists, catalogues, brochures and other printed material. Dimensions, capacity, colour differences, and data are approximate and binding only to the extent the agreement expressly refers to them. 14. Structure and Design Changes

QUOTE reserves the right, before delivery, to make any changes in the construction, execution or design, if deemed necessary, without further prior notice. These changes give the buyer right to cancel the purchase only if buyer can prove that the change was a prerequisite for the purchase. Changes and a possible repeal of the contract do not entitle buyer to any compensation.

15. Governing Law & Venue

Disputes concerning this agreement shall be settled according to Danish law and settled at Lyngby Cort.
