DIABETES a disease of Improper Metabolism

Food: – When food is eaten, the body metabolizes carbohydrates“sugars” and releases insulin from the pancreas directly into the liver. In non-diabetic people, the liver receives insulin in a unique pulsating

way which causes the liver to produce enzymes needed for proper

metabolism of all foods. This pulsating insulin to the liver is needed for

every normal person to activate their cells. Insulin is a primary hormone

that performs key functions in maintaining good health, at the cellular level.

Type 1 – Results from the body's failure to produce insulin, the hormone that "unlocks" the cells of the body, allowing glucose to enter

and fuel them. The body of a diabetic is unable to metabolize carbohydrates

“sugars” because they do not produce the needed insulin.

Type 2 – Results from improper insulin release to the liver and insulin resistance (a condition where cells fail to properly use insulin).

The body’s inability to properly metabolize carbohydrates, again, is thecore problem.

Millions In Need

24 Mil cases of diabetes in USA alone 1 Mil new cases of diabetes each year 24%+ of diabetics, or 4 Mil Need CAT One in three born after 2001, will becomediabetic during their life.

Native Americans are most inflicted. The number of people diagnosed with diabetes worldwide has been consistently on the rise for the last several decades and appears to continue to rise for the foreseeable future. The number of children that are born with Type I diabetes has increased from 1 in every 700 children in the 1970’s to 1 in every 400 today. Diabetes is perhaps the largest worldwide treatable disease.

Complications of Diabetes

Heart Disease: Heart disease is the leading cause of diabetes related death.

Stroke: The risk of stroke is 2 to 4 times greater among people with diabetes.

High Blood Pressure: 73% of adults with diabetes have high blood pressure.

Blindness: Diabetic retinopathy is the most common cause of new blindness cases each year.

Kidney Disease: Diabetes is the leading cause of renal disease, accounting for 43% cases.

Amputations: Over 60% of non-traumatic amputations happen among diabetes patients.

Nervous System Disease: 60% to 70% of diabetes patients have mild to severe forms of

nervous system damage, depression and malaise.

In addition, many people experience fatigue, sleeping disorders, diabetes related dementia, dental problems, poor wound healing, blackouts, as well as a general lack of energy. Many people with diabetes lose the ability to sense when their glucose levels are dropping. With Cellular Activation Therapysm given by the Bionica MicroDose, these and other symptoms now slow, stop and in many cases reverse.

Traditional Treatment Limitations

Insulin Injections: The most common form of treatment for those who suffer from the effects

of diabetes.

Insulin Pumps: For those want more flexible insulin delivery, these pumps replace shots and also

provide a background of insulin, which may be of some help. (These are not anything like the CAT pump.)

Careful Diet: Every diabetic knows the difficulty in tightly controlling their daily diet. For Type II diabetes patients, diet usually loses its effectiveness in avoiding symptoms.

Oral Medication: Some diabetics take oral medications to stimulate production or increase

sensitivity to insulin.

Controlled Exercise Program: Exercise is another way to help keep the body normal.

The lack of long term effectiveness of all the above methods is known by every person who suffers from diabetes and is widely documented. Hospitals are filled with diabetics who used all of the above methods which eventually loose their effect. Unfortunately, the mortality rate among diabetics has continued to rise over the last decade. Cellular Activation Therapy tm provides the only proven way to impede, stop or reverse the chronic complications of diabetes.

The Therapy and Background

Over 18 years of intensive research in leading Universities.

Insufficient insulin delivery to the liver plays a central role in

the pathophysiology (progression) of diabetes complications.

Even with Intensive Insulin therapy (tight control), many

diabetic patients will develop the many complications, becausetight control does not provide proper metabolism.

Poor carbohydrate metabolism results in improper lipid and

free fatty acid metabolism, the core problem of diabetes.

Every diabetic will eventually experience one or all of the symptoms of diabetes, some become more ill due to their own genetic and physical makeup. The progression of the disease complications have been irreversible by any other treatment before Cellular Activation Therapy tm.

Cellular Activation Therapy sm

Before Activation, there has never been an effective “body

wide metabolism” treatment, so physicians were limited to trying to regulate blood glucose (a symptom).

Cellular Activation Therapysm is clinically proven to be safe

and effective in shifting body wide metabolism towardnormal by reawakening enzyme pathways and providingbetter cellular energy (ATP) production and use.

Cellular Activation Therapy sm reestablishes what is normal for

healthy human beings. In 2002, it was proven that a normal person’s liver receives pulses from the pancreason a 4 to 6 minute basis. This is what the BionicaMicroDose delivers.

Works on Young Pregnant & Elderly

From young to old, CAT works uniformly to normalize cellular metabolism, and provide constant benefits.

This 7 year old girl was diagnosed at age 2, and was chronically ill with hypoglycemic reactions hypoglycemic unawareness, and many hospitalizations. She has now been on the treatment for 16 years. The pump in the foreground is the Bionica MicroDose with Cellular Activation Therapy programmed into its memory. This girl started on the Bionica MicroDose at age 6.

Now the same girl who was chronically ill, started CAT at age 7; and now age 25 is a healthy mother with 2 healthy children, and pregnant. She is no longer ill, and her only hospitalization since activating has been for childbirth. She has none of her former complications, none of the signs of being a diabetic for 23 years, and has no hypoglycemic reactions.

Savings by CellularActivation Therapy sm

The $115B spent annually for inpatient hospital care is an easy economic reason to support the treatment. Just treating chronically hospitalized patients would justify CAT treatments. Patients that are on CAT are rarely hospitalized for diabetes related complications.

Other areas such as dental, emergency room, etc will also be significantly reduced due to the fact that patients on Cellular Activation Therapy sm do not experience most or any of the side affects of diabetes.

CAT Works With Type 1 & 2

After the discovery of insulin, physicians were surprised to learn that insulin alone did not keep

diabetic people from developing the horrible complications of diabetes. At that point, the idea of “tight control” of blood glucose was thought to be the answer. This proved wrong.

“Tight control” of was then studied in the DCCT, a 10 year NIH study, as well as the UKPDS

and other studies. These studies proved that “tight control” is better than not controlling blood glucose, but it does not stop the complications of diabetes. Diabetics do not metabolizeproperly, resulting in heart, liver, muscle, eye, kidney diseases, and a loss of energy, sleep, sexual function, and all aspects of life are impacted. CAT is the only answer.

From the DCCT, it is understood that “while not controlling glucose worsens complications, good

control will not keep 25 to 40 % of diabetics from developing overt secondary complications within 10 years.”

The reality is that all diabetics who are not on Cellular Activation Therapy sm will develop

some complications which reduce their lifespan, and complications should be treated with CAT.

Metabolism is the Problem for BOTH Type I and Type II Diabetics. Cellular Activation Therapy sm works equally well for both Type I and Type II diabetic patients.

Pulses of Insulin

 CAT simulates the normal pancreatic

delivery of insulin to the liver.

Peter Butler, professor of medicine and chair of the division of endocrinology and

diabetes, and research fellow Soon Song, received the Endocrine Society's first prizefor best clinical paper published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism in the year 2002. The paper, "Direct Measurement of Pulsatile InsulinSecretion from the Portal Vein in Human Subjects," reported that insulin is secreted from beta cells in the pancreas almost exclusively in secretory bursts every four to six minutes. The result: very large amplitude oscillations of insulin concentration in the portal vein, which directly perfuses the liver, Butler said. Prior to this study, noone had shown this effect in human beings. Subject was entrained to show agreement between entrained frequency and portal vein insulin oscillations. Weconclude that insulin release in the human portal vein occurs at a mean periodicity of 4.4 [plus minus] 0.2 min with a high signal-to-noise ratio (pulse amplitude 660%of basal). This means that the pulses are about 7 times the base levels!

As can be seen, the Bionica pump delivers very accurate pulses of insulin, at all levels of infusion. This is required to stimulate the liver and reawaken dormant carbohydrate metabolism.

Why Diabetics NeedCellular Activation Therapysm

Notice that the Type 2 diabetic does not have early (first phase) insulin release, as does normal man. This failure to stimulate the liver (and other tissue) is reversed by the Cellular Activation Therapysm. This is why CAT works on Type 1 where there is no insulin release, and Type 2 where the insulin is not released in pulses, as it is in normal person.

Clinical Results

This slide shows the importance of early secretion. The Type II diabetic eats, and then shortly thereafter is very hungry again because of the high levels of insulin.
