Casting In our thriller there are four main characters, the missing girl, the victim, the murderer and the boyfriend of the missing girl. In choosing our cast we thought about the effect they would have on the audience which led us to cast ‘ordinary’ people. This was so the story was more believable as we had typical people. Using people who looked too scary or too perfect could have made our opening seem cheesy and unoriginal. The Missing Girl The Victim When choosing the victim and the missing girl we tried to make them have similar features - in this case the blonde hair. We did this so that it would seem that the murderer was targeting similar victims and there was a pattern. Grace plays again a young girl who is best friends with the missing girl. Her character is more sensible and practical then her friend however she still is portrayed as an innocent young girl. This was the photo featured on our missing posters. We chose to use this picture as we thought it showed the character having fun and portrayed her innocence. This is Claire who plays our 16 year old college student who has gone missing. She is a polite young girl who is a highly liked character hence the concern when she did not return home one night.

The Boyfriend
Callum plays the concerned boyfriend within the film. He is trying to act like everything will be okay but deep down he has a gut feeling they aren’t going to find the missing girl. Due to this he comes across sharp and in a panic. He does not have the sensible and practical approach like the victim. We chose Callum because he is also ordinary looking and is a typical teenage boy.
The Murderer
We chose Mash to be our murderer as we wanted to pick an intimidating male character. Mash is very tall and broad which is how we wanted our murderer to be as in typical films the murderer or villain is quite big and scary. He is a complete psycho within the thriller however due to no dialogue in our opening scene showing the murderer little is revealed about the character; this builds on the tension in the film and does not give anything away about our murderer.
