Last year's certification was held in Salina, Kans. and the organization voted tot have the 2009 certification in Iowa and Cass County was selected as the host agency. HAPDA is an accredited organization where K-9 teams can receive a yearly certification in areas of Narcotics detection, patrol, arson, explosives, and search and rescue, depending on the specializations of the K-9 team.
