PRINCIPAL REPORT - MR SCHNEIDER
Our Year 12 students have just completed their Trial Higher School Certificate and will be returning to normal lessons on Monday. The Trial examinations are a particularly stressful time for our Year 12 students (and parents) as the revision and preparation time is less than for the HSC Examinations. The battle now for all Year 12 students is to refocus and complete all syllabus requirements. Year 11 students should be in full preparation for their Preliminary HSC Examinations which will commence at the start of Week 9 and conclude at the end of Week 10. A number of our VET students have been out on Work Placement recently and it is always great to hear positive feedback from the employers who support this program. Without them our students wouldn’t be able to gain the valuable life experiences that go hand-in-hand with this program. Congratulations to those students who have been offered ongoing employment through this avenue. Just a reminder Casino High School is hosting a dinner meeting for interested Parents/Carers to share what they would most like their child to gain from his/her learning at Casino High School. The meeting will be held at the Casino RSM in the Peppercorn Room, Wednesday, 5th September 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Food will be provided for all the Parent/Carers and community members attending.
Please note this date is an amendment to the previous date provided in our Week 4 Newsletter.
If you would like to attend please visit the school’s office or telephone the school (6662 3077) to book a place before 3.20pm Friday, 31st August. Entry will only be available to those Parents/Carers or community members who have RSVP’d, to allow for catering arrangements. As this is a school function alcoholic beverages will not be permitted. A special thank you to the Parents/Carers who help in the school canteen and attend our P & C Meetings. Your contribution to our school community is invaluable.
Parents, Carers and friends of Year 12 students please save the date

From the Deputies ...Ms Kearney and Miss Bennett
The countdown is well and truly on for our Year 12 students with only 4 weeks left of timetabled lessons.
Having just completed their Trial HSC Exams, it is now time for the students to consolidate their learning.
It is essential that students attend all lessons up until the last day of term.
To complete their fundraising efforts, Year 12 will be having a slave auction on Tuesday 25th September.
This auction will be held during Break 2 with the Year 12 students being slaves during period 5.
Our term 3 and final Year 12 social will be held on Thursday 6th September at the Casino RSM Club. The
theme is “Back in Time” and SRC Representatives will be selling tickets for $2 during class breaks up until
Wednesday September 5th.
Year 11 are also fast approaching their examination period. These exams will be held during Week 9 and
10, 17th – 27th September. This is a great opportunity for Year 11 students to become more familiar with
what will be expected of them during exams in the lead-up to their HSC. Students are reminded to look at
their exam timetable and examination rules carefully.

SHOW TEAM NEWS
Limitless Cattle Supplies Online Steer Show
Murray Grey Steer Bullet with Taj Currie leading Angus X Steer Oreo with Phoebe McMillan leading
Casino High School show team took the opportunity to enter an online steer competition, the first of its kind. The
students entered the steers online by taking photos and videos of the steers parading in the ring and loading them
onto the facebook page which had been set up by the competition organisers, Limitless Show Cattle and Supplies.
Our two steers Oreo and Bullet both performed extremely well placing 3rd in their classes against some tough
opposition. Our steers were already finished off for the most part and still have two months to go before the next
round of local shows. The students all had a great time preparing and presenting the cattle for this new online
show competition.

the University of Melbourne. The Murrum
Barak Program exposes senior high school
students to university life.
AJ attended a dinner at Trinity College,
participated in a Q & A session with current
students and was exposed to city life in
Melbourne with the Murrum Barak mentors.
This opportunity was made available to all
Indigenous students in Australia. AJ met
