Dear Friends,Pets are one of our greatest gifts; they ask for nothing and give us unconditional love in return. They deserve to be in loving homes and taken care of for their entire lives. Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter shelters na-tionwide each year. Sadly, approximately 2.7 million end up being euthanized. Please consider helping FMCA put an end to the overpopulation of unwanted homeless animals. Since its formation in 1974, FMCA’s programs include the support of TNR to manage community cats, a thriving rescue/adoption program and financial funding to other humane groups and individuals when the need arises.

FMCA needs your help to continue our work. Thank you for your support!

FMCA provided financial assistance to Days End Farm Horse Rescue for two abuse cases…

FMCA donated to assist Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) in two separate cases of horse abuse. One case involved Quest and Rio, two emaciated horses that were removed from a Washington County farm. They were in stalls piled high with 3-4 feet of manure, where it is suspected they were locked up for at least 15 years without necessary farrier or medical care. They were taken to DEFHR for critical and rehabilitative care. Rio has completed his rehabilitative care and is pending adoption! At this time, Quest has completed his rehabilitation and is cur-rently undergoing evaluation and/or training with the professional staff at DEFHR.

FMCA provided financial support and surgery for a dog in therapy training…

Annie, a retriever mix, is a very lucky dog. She was rescued from a high kill shel-ter in Alabama through PA Caring for K-9’s (Pac 9 Rescue) when she was less than a year old. Her forever mom said: “When I first saw Annie on the shelter website, I just knew she was my dog.” Annie at a year old started limping. The vet discov-ered that Annie suffered from elbow dysplasia, caused by the abnormal growth of cells, tissue, or bone. The condition led to malformation and degeneration of the elbow joint. Annie desperately needed an expensive surgery, a challenge for any family. Thankfully, Annie’s family reached out to FMCA, which was able to pay for part of the procedure and post-operative care. Her owner said: “without FMCA’s help, Annie would still be waiting for surgery. I will always feel blessed that FMCA helped Annie. She is a very special therapy dog and she has opened up the world for me. She came into my life and transformed it. I am so happy to have her by my side.”
