Casey William Kidwell Iowa City, Iowa, USA Casey is a second year law student at the University of Iowa. His legal education is focused on business contracts and intellectual property law. He has researched issues in antitrust and trade regulation as well as in criminal law. In Fall 2015, Casey will be a legal consultant for the Iowa Medical Innovation Group to assist with the procurement of legal documents and contracts for researchers and inventors at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Casey’s professional interests have been shaped by his experiences as the general manager of a local restaurant and also a startup that seeks to provide legal services for international students wishing to attain post-secondary education in the United States. To get more involved in community service projects, Casey joined the Iowa City Noon Rotary Club in 2015 where he first met CARTHA Founder Usha Balakrishnan. Casey now serves as co-chair of the Club’s Rotaract-Interact Committee to plan programs for students and young professionals participating in the Rotaract Club of Iowa City Area. Designated in August 2015 as a CARTHA Fellow in innovation management and humanitarianism, Casey continues to meet other Carthans with the goal of formulating: (i) Novel philanthropic models to advance CARTHA’s themed glocal initiatives and pilot-scale programs; and (ii) Collaborative leadership development programs with campus-based CARTHA Student Chapters and other CARTHA Fellows.

Casey is a second year law student at the University of Iowa. His legal education is

focused on business contracts and intellectual property law. He has researched issues in

antitrust and trade regulation as well as in criminal law. In Fall 2015, Casey will be a

legal consultant for the Iowa Medical Innovation Group to assist with the procurement of

legal documents and contracts for researchers and inventors at the University of Iowa

Hospitals and Clinics. Casey’s professional interests have been shaped by his experiences
