Transcript of case: new building TIMELINE OF NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS · when the new administrative building is...
The changes associated with re-envisioning the use of space in the Banks Street building
present the right time to construct a new building to meet the current and future needs
of the school. The new building will ensure that school business and classrooms no
longer physically overlap, creating a safer and more focused environment for teachers
and students.
The school’s business affairs which welcome the most visitors to campus, which include
the bookstore, admissions, advancement, maintenance, student check-out, and the
president’s office, among others, will exist in a building physically separated from space
used for academic and formational activities. The re-envisioned space will include a
reception area to appropriately welcome and screen visitors to campus. The building will
serve as the formal main entrance to campus.
The façade of the new building, which faces Will Clark Field along Banks Street, will
be consistent with the architectural elements of the wing constructed in 1953 on
Palmyra Street.
