Case 2

2
Jekyl (33) was found lifeless in his bedroom. 9-mm bullet pierced his bony forehead, and he lied on his back with the gun positioned in his grasp. His body was discovered by his Landlord, as she smelled a foul smell next door (Jekyl’s room was located beside her dwelling). Landlord admitted that victim lived in his apartment unaccompanied, adding that he was divorced with his wife 3 years ago because of economy and health problem. According to his medical record, Jekyl was suffering from amnesia and experiencing bizzare voice inside his head. Inside his drawer, there was a decent stock of prescribed Amisulpride and Olanzapine. One box, however, was completely empty. Nearby neighbors claimed victim was fond of laughing fiendishly on the corridor, which creeped them out. Surprisingly, there were 3 peculiar subjects which had special case with the victim. First one was Bedu, an acting school student and victim’s other next-door. Couple days ago, victim smashed his head to the wall for murdering victim’s dog. Which was strange because victim didnt have any dog. Bedu missed his final exam because of that incident. Next one was Lenny, a receptionist of a local bank and victim’s opposite neighbor. She said the victim was pretty nice, but one day he sexually harassed her and made her slapped his face pretty bad (and called the police). Last one was his wife. She admitted she visited him on the day of the murder, but mainly because there was something left in the room she wanted to take. She left him because the victim tended to beat her frantically during his lifetime. Forensic determined the time of death was last midnight, which was New Year’s Eve. Neighbors exclaimed that night was like a warzone, firecrackers were everywhere. Bedu explained he was taking a shower at that time because before that he was playing basketball downtown. Lenny said she was taking sleep pills and passed out early. Victim’s wife was watching end-year music show with her mother 3 miles from the scene. Further investigation came across victim’s diary, full of self-confession, how mean his wife was, and somebody called “The Grumpy One” who tormented him all day. Only 3 people that had access to his room, they were the landlord, his wife, and

Only 3 people that had access to his room, they were the landlord, his wife, and the victim himself. You are a detective contracted for this case, and you already solve it. You tell the police that:

a. Foul play by Bedub. Foul play by Lennyc. Foul play by his wifed. Accidentally shoot himself, because he was actually nutse. Schizophrenic mental breakdown.

Olanzapine and Amisulpride are two kinds of anti-psychotic drugs, consumed in order to treat mental illness involving bipolar disorder and

panic attack such as Schizophrenia or Heavy Depression. Jekyl suffered from bipolar disorder, panic attack, strange “voices” inside his head, and partial amnesia, which are all symptoms of Schizophrenia. At one point, person with schizophrenia might experience a mental or nervous breakdown. This point occured when the person was having a lot of stressful thoughts or dreadful fatigue. This point, the person might lose his sanity and do something delirious. In addition, the real sane Jekyl mentioned his other identity by the name “The Grumpy One”. This identity might be the one who caused havoc in the apartment (hurting Bedu or Sexually harassing Lenny). The trigger for Jekyl’s schizophrenia might be his past economy and family-life stress, and was amplifying since then.
