The Carol Stream Park District Board of Commissioners consists of seven individuals who are elected by the community to represent the community’s best interests. The charge of the Board is to set policies that will guide the Park District. Board members serve a four-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. They come from a variety of backgrounds but share one important trait -a commitment to serving the park and recreational needs of our community.

Board Meetings Regularly scheduled meetings of the Board are held on the second and/or the fourth Monday of each month according to a schedule adopted by the Board yearly. Please check our website for our current meeting schedule. Regular Board Meetings open at 7:00 pm.

Parents Night Out!Saturday, Jun 25When was the last time you had a night out without the kids? Take a night off without scrambling for a babysitter. We’ll provide a night filled with fun activities, supervised by our energetic and qualified staff. Your kids will enjoy a drink, popcorn, toys, games, arts and crafts, music and a movie. Outdoor Movie Night: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate FactoryFriday, Aug 19, 8pmHave a Wonkalicious time at our interactive outdoor movie night. The original 1974 classic tells the story of Charlie Bucket and his tour of the magical candy factory along with four other grossly gluttonous girls and boys. Listen and sing-a-long to classic songs like “Pure Imagination” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”. There is no admission cost for the movie but kids can purchase an interactive fun pack at the door for $1.00, and refreshments (including Wonka bars) will be sold for an additional cost. Enjoy a “sweet” night with your family and friends under the stars. All ages welcome, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your own blankets or lawn chair. Arrive at 7:30pm, movie starts at dusk.

Skateboard Camp This one day camp is for beginner or intermediate skaters who want to learn or enhance the following skills: start, stop, drop in, ollies, basic ramp riding, balance and various tricks. This camp will help prepare skaters for the upcoming 3rd Annual Throw Down Show Down Skateboard Competition on Sunday, May 22.

Join the Dolphins Swim Team! The Carol Stream Dolphins are part of the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference consisting of 14 park district swim teams. Kids (ages 6 -18) do not need to have competitive swimming experience to join. Practices are held weekday mornings at Coral Cove with 10 meets in the season-Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The season begins in June and ends the last week of July. Join the volunteer parent organization to support the swim team for a successful season.

• Parent viewing opportunities are Aug 2-8.

• Assessments are required for Grasshopper, Beginner, Beginner II, Advanced Beginner, and Novice levels. Assessments are also required for any of these levels if more than one session has been skipped. Call (630) 784-6105 to schedule a time.

• Only the registered child will be allowed to attend and participate.

• During parent/child classes and parent observation week, please make alternate arrangements for siblings. Siblings under the age of six may not attend evening class observation. Kids Korner on-site play care is available.

Just Play Party Wagon Wow the crowd at your next party or picnic with our Just Play Party Wagon! The fun-making trailer is stocked with 10 lightweight tables, 100 lightweight chairs, a 10’ by 10’ pop-up canopy, a super-sized charcoal grill, games and a sound system. We’ll even deliver it right to your door! The Party Wagon is available April -October. Reservations begin February 1 every year. Cost is $99. Visit Simkus Recreation Center to reserve the Party Wagon.

Coral Cove Water Park RentalsThe Coral Cove Water Park is available for rentals during the summer on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:15 pm -10:15 pm and on Sundays from 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm. We have packages for your small group of up to 50 or for a larger group up to 1500. Full payment is required to secure a date. Rentals may be canceled due to inclement weather at the manager’s discretion and can be rescheduled if dates are open.

Coyote Crossing Mini-Golf RentalHave a Puttin’ Picnic at Coyote Crossing! Rentals are for a minimum of one hour or in full-hour increments. You can reserve your space for as many hours you want to stay and play all day! Mini-golf is additional. Bring your own picnic or make it a party with pizza, pop, and other great options from our add-on menu.

Group OutingsBring your group to Carol Stream Park District with three fun group outing options: Coral Cove Water Park, Coyote Crossing Mini-Golf and gymnastics. Outings cost $5 per camper and counselors go free. Double up the fun and add a second group outing on the same day you’ll receive the discounted price of $3 per camper for the additional outing. The Carol Stream Park District is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The Carol Stream Park District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors registering for the above listed programs/activities must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities/programs. You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child/ward are physically fit and/or skilled for the activities contemplated by this agreement. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity.

WARNING OF RISK

Recreational activities are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational activity. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Depending on the particular activity, participants must understand that certain risks, dangers and injuries due to inclement weather, slip and falls, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, premises defects, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction or officiating, and all other circumstances inherent to indoor and outdoor recreational activities exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the Carol Stream Park District to guarantee absolute safety.

Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in the programs listed, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a Result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with these programs (including transportation services and vehicle operations, when provided). I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in these programs, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation.
