Family Activities

Time to Play Bring your child (ren) to explore a new and stimulating environment,

having a go with construction, role play, arts and craft and much more. Age: 0-4yrs

Sensory Play Sensory play offers you and your child the opportunity to explore a range of sensory activities, stimulating all your

senses through eye catching, ‘touchy feely’ resources. For children of 0-4 years

Sensory Room For all children up to the age of 13 who would benefit from sessions to support their

development and well-being, especially for children with additional needs. We have colourful bubble tubes, glitter balls, tactile panels, and giant bean bags.

Baby Play Come along and spend some quality time with your baby, exploring sensory, messy or movement The sessions aim to give you ideas for making the

most of playtime in ways that encourage your baby’s growth and development. Age 0-4

Let’s Get Moving Run, hop, skip or jump along to our movement session and get active with

friends. Age: 0-4 yrs

Is a fortnightly group for any Dads’, Step Dad’s, Uncles, Grandfathers, Older Brothers (18 years or older), Foster carers or significant male carers with a child or children in their lives. MATCH Family sessions are open to the whole family; these sessions will primarily be on weekends. Enjoy socialising in our free and relaxed sessions, whilst taking part in a range of fun and varied family activities. Age: 0-11 yrs

Let’s Get Creative Explore a range of art, craft and messy play activities providing stimulating

opportunities for all. Mark making, playing with sand and water, drawing, painting, play-dough and much more. Age: 0-4 yrs

Toy Stop and Swap Borrow toys and resources to help you keep up with your child’s ever changing interests. E.g. story sacks,

dressing up and role play equipment, dolls, games and ride on toys. Call in to the Centre to look at the toy selection. This service and catalogues are available to schools, nurseries and childminders from Carlisle Rural Sure Start Children’s Centre. Ring and reserve for you to collect or us to deliver. Activities for Children with Additional needs

Short Breaks These sessions are for disabled children and those with additional needs aged 10 years and under and

Activities for 5- 19 year olds After School Family Fun

Time for the family to have some fun. Enjoy socialising in our free and relaxed sessions, whilst taking part in a range of fun and varied family activities. Age: 0-11 yrs

Over 8’s Drop In Looking for something to do after school? Why not come along to our drop in where you can take part in a range of games and activities? Open to all children aged 8 and over, Children must be registered with the Children Centre to attend un-supervised. Longtown Drop-in Join us after busy day at school and relax in this free session. All Longtown young people are welcome and there will be loads of interesting stuff to do: including building a website, baking and cooking, arts & crafts, board games, guest speakers, karaoke, and days away. Age: 11-19 yrs. The group is ran jointly with INSPIRA,

Playschemes

Looking for something to do over the school holidays? Why not

come along to a Holiday Playscheme to socialise and take part in a range of games and activities? Playschemes are accessible for those aged 0-11 years. Under 8’s must be supervised by an adult at all times. Over 8’s can be left, however they must be signed in and out of the session by an adult.

Family Fun Holiday Activities Looking for something to do over the school

Baby Massage Baby massage gives parents & carers an opportunity to spend one to one quality time with

First Aid Course

Heart and circulatory disease is the biggest cause of premature death in the United Kingdom and there are also approximately two and a half million people living with it. The aim of the Course is to teach Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills. The courses last approximately two hours, are FREE and are delivered by trained 'Heartstart Trainers' who are Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service employees/volunteers. Open to Parent’s, Carers and over 8 year olds at the half term Sessions Recovery Toolkit Is a free 10 week programme for women who have experienced domestic abuse/ violence. The course is designed to assist you in developing positive lifestyles, coping strategies, build self esteem and feel more confident. Health Exercise Nutrition for the Really Young Is designed to give

you, as parents and carers, the tools and skills you need to lead a healthy family lifestyle. As well as covering the most obvious topic – food, HENRY also includes much more, attitudes and skills for parenting, information about healthy eating for the family. provide you with an appointment in your local area at a time that suits you. Smoking Cessation provides One to One support, information leaflets and Nicotine Replacement Therapies.
