Target GroupA ten-day course for candidates wishing toachieve National Instructor Licence status(ITSSAR). Delegates must be a registeredoperator with over 12 months active operatingexperience on the nominated truck type. Theoperator’s certificate must have been issued inthe previous 6 months. A 5 Day Re-Reg Course(CFL05a) is available for instructors who wish torenew their licence.

This one day course is designed to equippersonnel who are using or handling steel wire rope with the necessary knowledge to ensure that they adopt best working practices andensure that both they and their employer complywith current lifting legislation including Liftingoperations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.

Designed for users of permanent magnetic liftersand those carrying out “in service” inspection ofpermanent magnetic lifters. It is also suitable forthose who are involved with, or give advice tousers of permanent magnetic lifting equipment.

This one-day course is carried out in accordancewith the code of practice for the safe use of liftingequiment (section 25) as published by LEEA. Itincludes a multiple choice confirmation test and apractical lifting assessment leading to certificationon successful completion.

A half-day seminar for all personnel involved in ormanaging Lifting Equipment and/or LiftingOperations. The aim of this seminar is to inform allattendees on current regulations pertaining tolifting operations, underlining employer andemployee responsibilities.

This three-day course is for candidates wishing toachieve a nationally recognised operatorqualification enabling them to operate a LorryMounted Crane during their normal day to dayduties. On successful completion of the coursecandidates will receive an ITSSAR operatorscertificate and plastic photo ID card.

Aim & DurationThe aim of this course is to train selecteddelegates in the safe operation and effective useof overhead travelling cranes in their workplace.Two separate courses are available to meet theneeds of those with pendant or cab controls. Theduration of each programme is dependent uponexperience, 1 day for experienced operatives, 2days for those with little or no experience.

This half day course is intended for delegates whouse safety harnesses and lanyards in the courseof their work. A one day course. Current legislation requires thatyou (and your Supervisor/Manager) are trained inthe safe use of work equipment, which includesMobile Access Towers. The official PASMA(Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ andManufacturers’ Association) certification satisfi esthe Work at Height Regulations 2005 and TheProvision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations1998 (PUWER). Upon successful completioncandidates are issued with a PASMA identity cardand certificate. This is widely accepted andrecognised by the Health and Safety Executive(HSE) and is valid for 5 years.

This half day course has been designed to givemanagers and users of power tools an awarenessof their legal requirements relating to the safe useof their hand held power equipment and to ensurethat they adopt the correct safe working practicesin accordance with the Provision & User of WorkEquipment Regulations 1998.

This half day course will enable delegates tounderstand the requirements of abrasive wheel safetyand associated legislation (including PUWER). Also,to show an understanding of the practical aspects ofmounting and safe use of abrasive wheels.

This two day course is for those who haveresponsibility for training other employees on thesafe use and mounting of abrasive wheels.

On average there are 1200 serious injuries and 14deaths reported to the HSE each year involvingWorking at Heights, a third of these involveladders and step ladders. The aim of the course isto train selected delegates in the correct use andapplication of ladders & step ladders, pre-useinspection and reports and records that need tobe kept in accordance with the law.

This half day asbestos awareness course is aimedat all personnel who may come into contact withasbestos whilst carrying out refurbishment,demolition of industrial or domestic premises andgeneral building and maintenance work. The aimof the course is to train individuals to work safelyand within the law.
