Main Objective
Make a robot culturally competent, i.e. capable of
representing cultural models, using these models in sensing,
planning and acting,and acquiring them.
Build a demonstration system based on state-of-
the art in assistive domestic robots, and integrate into it the
outcome of thescientific work.
Design experiments for testing the role of cultural
competence to design robots more sensitiveto the user’s needs,
customs and lifestyle.
Explore the role of cultural competence for improving
the acceptability of health-care robots in the Society.
