On behalf of the Office of Career Development, it is my pleasure to share the career accomplishments of the Class of 2011. Six months after graduation, 93% of respondents had secured employment, admission to graduate school, law school, or medical school, with 1% entering the military. All members of the Class were contacted, and outcomes information was solicited, from September 2010 through October 2011. The report that follows is based on a response rate of 89%. Our greatest honor is to foster the success of Stevens students. It has been the privilege of the Office of Career Development to guide and support the Class of 2011. Class of 2011 Industry Breakdown For those who have accepted employment, the greatest percentage (32%) will be working in the Manufacturing/Pharmaceutical sector with the financial sector a close second at (24%).
2008 - 2011 Industry Comparison The chart below depicts the industry distribution of accepted employment of this year’s graduates as well as graduates from the preceding 4 years.
Stevens graduates continued the 2010 trend in accepting employment in the Manufacturing/Pharmaceutical sector at an increasing rate (+11%), followed by the Financial Sector (+6%). Engineering Services decreased for the Class of 2011 by 8%, and the Construction Sector is down 5%. Aerospace/Defense is slowly recovering from the 14% decrease experienced in 2010, with a modest gain of 2% this year.

Women at Stevens For the first time, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) benchmarked graduating student salaries according to gender. The analysis showed salaries of female engineering graduates surpassing that of males nationally*. An analysis of Stevens 2011 salaries according to gender produced a similar outcome. However, the average salaries of female Computer Science and Business & Technology graduates also surpassed that of their male counterparts. The Stevens salary comparison data is provided below.
