The Career Gateway program is an exciting, innovative, and practical four-year experience that will complement the courses you take and help you build the skills necessary for professional success. It is comprised of a unique set of comprehensive experiences strategically woven into your already rigorous academic curriculum and designed to develop your poise and confidence, enhance your knowledge, and prepare you for real-world challenges in college and beyond.

What is the Career Gateway program? Career Gateway is a professional development program that is comprised of a wide variety of interactive training workshops. Topics include: interviewing

techniques, time management, personal branding, resume writ ing and cross-cultural communica tion skills. Career Gateway also includes experi ential activities employing social media and emerging technologies. The purpose of this specially de signed program is to help you develop a personalized professional skill set necessary to be successful in busi ness, entrepreneurial ventures, leadership and life.

How does Career Gateway work? Over the course of your four years at Saint Mary’s College, you will have op portunities to earn 40 “keys” to success, with each key tied to train ing in an important skill set. To col lect the keys—up to ten each year —you must complete the required training sessions and workshops.

How do I get started? Career Gateway is available to all SEBA undergraduates, and they are strongly encouraged to par ticipate. The program is tailored so that students can enter at any time in their academic experience at Saint Mary’s College. Those who finish the Career Gateway program will be awarded a special certificate of accomplish ment and a transcript summarizing all workshops and events complet ed.
