The meal was served before the meeting with dessert being the first course. It was watermelon sorbet served by Cindy Williams. A most unusual taste yet refresh- ing with homemade Scottish Shortbread The meeting was called to or- der by the president, Mary Mays, with the Club Pledge read in unison. Devotion was a poem entitled “It’s a Wonderful World”. Roll call was answered by “What does the 4th (of July) mean to you?” There were 7 members present, 4 absent, and two visi- tors; Mrs. Victoria Ard met with us, also Brooke Laman. Minutes were read and accepted. July 21, is the workshop at the Mays household to do wheel- chair caddies. August 4 was the re-scheduled date for the apron workshop. August 19th begins the taking in of exhibits for the fair. If you would like to work in the Domestic Arts Dept. please contact Mrs. Lynn Laman (Dani- ta) before August 19, 2012. The purse workshop taught by Jean Wininger was moved from June 30th to Aug. 11th . You will need to bring scissors, thread, 1 yd. of fabric for the front and back and 4 colors of fabric ½ yd each for pockets and lining. Snap closure will be provided. Be prepared for it to take a least two hours but you will walk away with a beautiful finished product. Craft Day is October 20 at the Carroll County Complex instead of the Carroll Bank and Trust activity building. There was a conflict for the date so the loca- tion was moved. Under new busi- ness: the County Council met that morning and they discussed the providing of the meal for the fair. Dishes were assigned with each club providing two desserts and a gallon of tea or lemonade. Next month hostess will be Janice Chandler. Visitors are always welcome! He was born March 17, 1970 in Elkhart, Indiana, son of Joe Curtis and Madeline Hall Belew. He married Melanie Diedrich on August 20, 2004 in Waterloo, Iowa. To this union four children were born. He brought to the marriage two children and she brought three children. Mr. Belew received his edu- cation from the Elkhart pub- lic schools and St. Vincent Catholic School and the Car- roll County School System. He graduated from West Carroll High School, received a degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT Technical College in Nash- ville, TN. He was employed with TransAmerica in Cedar Rapids. He worked 20+ years in communications in Cedar Rapids, including with MCI, Verizon, and Rockwell Collins. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Mt. Olive Lodge #17, Past Worthy Patron of Silverleaf Chapter #5 O.E.S., Officer of A.G. Clark Consis- tory #68, in Cedar Rapids, Past Grand Patron for the State of Iowa O.E.S., and Bashir Temple #156 in Waterlooo, Iowa. As a regional community hospital, we are committed to providing the best in care to our neighbors. We welcome area physician and hospitalist, Dr. Wheatley, to our team, providing the best of care for you. A graduate of Lambuth University and the East TN State University Medical Shool, Dr. Wheatley practiced family medicine in Huntingdon as well as hospitalist medicine at Baptist-Huntingdon. He has also served as the clinic director and assistant professor at the Univeristy of TN Family Medicine Center in Jackson and has served over the residency program at Jackson Madison County Genral Hospital. Dr. Wheatley is married to Susan and has three children. A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients in the hospital. Dr. Wheatley will work with his other fellow hospitalists so that continuity of care allows you to get well faster, and be discharged earlier. HCMC is pleased to offer the Hospitalist Program to our patients with six outstanding physicians and two nurse practitioners dedicated to your care. We welcome Dr. Wheatley to our hospitalist team.
