     FAQ & Errata

    1

Unfortunately, a few slight errors found their way into the rule book and the game board. Rest assured, however, that none of these errors affect the gameplay, and we are only reporting them here for the sake of clarity.

    What, then, are these errors?

    1.  The Components list on page 2 of the rule book contains 2 small quantity errors. Instead of thelisted 21 small Camels and 3 large Pepper Sacks, the game actually includes 20 small Camelsand 4 large Pepper Sacks. The number of Goods and Camels available in the game are

unlimited, so this quantity change does not affect the game. (Unfortunately, there was acommunication error, and an older listing of the wooden parts quantities was used inadvertently.

    2. The “48” space on the scoring track is missing its number. It must have been eaten by sea monstersthat enjoy numbers. We are confident that you can count the space without its number. We alsofeel that the number “42” would have been more delicious, but that is not for us to decide...

    3. The city of Beijing  is misspelled on the game board as “Bejing”. We sincerely apologize forthis error, and hope that this doesn’t cause any displeasure with our Chinese friends. Thiserror was certainly not intended.

Differences between, and clarifications for, "TheMarketplace" and "The Favor Of Khan"

The “Marketplace” action area consists of 4 separate action spaces, for thetaking of Gold, Silk, Pepper, or Camels. If a player decides to perform the“Marketplace” action, he must choose which one of the 4 actions spaces he

wishes to use, depending on the item associated with it; for example, Camels. If he decides to perform the “Marketplace” action on a later turn in the same round, he may not select the “Camels”space again, since dice of each player color (blue, yellow, green, red) may only be used once per action space in a single round. Continuing with our example, the player would have to select a different action space, such as“Pepper”. Exception: By using black or white dice only, a player may  perform the same action again in a round.

The “Favor of Khan” action area consists of 1 action space made up of 4 dice fields. Therefore, each player may only place a die of his color (blue, yellow, green, red) once per round in theentire “Favor of Khan” action area. The player does not  have to pay Coins if one or more of the dicefields are occupied; the only placement condition is that the value of the placed die is equal to or higher than the oneto its left. Exception: By using a black or white die, a player may  perform the “Favor of Khan” action again in a round.Example: Green has placed his die (showing a “3”) on the leftmost field in the “Favor of Khan”action area, and both Red and Blue placed one of their dice (both showing a “4”) on the next2 fields. Therefore, the “Favor of Khan” action may not be performed again by Green , Red or Blue with their player color this round (they may, however, use a black or white die to do so).

Can the additional action "Take 3 Coins" be performed

    with a player's last die?

Yes. A player may take any number of additional actions before or after taking his main action on a turn. If he useshis last available die to take the additional action “Take 3 Coins”, he then has no more dice left to use in this round, and can therefore take no more actions that require the use of dice.
