You’ll probably use this one coming home from the hospital as it is the favorite with all nurses,- easiest to put on and sweet. Materials2 Hanks of Punta Yarns – Mericash Solid – merino and cashmere (263 YardsSize U.S. 1 & 2 knitting needles. Tapestry needle, Ribbon (optional)

Gauge: 8 sts = 1”

Front:

With #2 needles; Cast on 70 sts. Slip 1st st.  of every row purlwise, K in garter st. for 3 ridges. *K to last 17 sts (53 sts.), turn, knit to end. Knit to last 3 sts.(67 sts.) turn, knit to end. K to last 17 sts., turn, knit to end. K1 row over 70 sts. K1 row.* Continue from, * to * until there are 40 ridges at lower edge.

Sleeves:

Starting at yoke end, k32 sts. Put remaining 38 sts. on a holder. Cast on 32 sts for sleeve. Continue from * to * and AT THE SAME TIME, make cuff by knitting to last 12 sts. of sleeve on one ridge and all the way to the end on the next ridge until there are 50 ridges in sleeve. Bind off 32 sts. at cuff edge.

Back:

Pick up 38 sts. on holder. Continue same as front until there are 64 ridges at lower edge.  Repeat for second sleeve and front. Sew sleeve seams.

Neck Band:

With #1 needles, with right side of garment facing you pick up 68 sts on top of yoke. *K2, YO twice, K2 tog. * Rep – end k1. K1 row and bind off. Optional trim all around with crochet crab stitch (reverse sc)

Finishing:Run ribbon or monk’s cord thru eyelets and weave in ends.
