Family Education Event Toolkits• National PTA provides:– Planning guide – Lesson plans for interactive,
family education stations– Take-home tools – Family recruitment tools – Media and social media tools – Training webinars – Funding (when possible)
There are two different kits:Grades K-2Grades 3-5
Healthy Lifestyles Grant: Energy Balance 101
• New Funding Available for Healthy Lifestyles Grant– 25 grants available; $2,000 each– Required focus: energy balance– Required curriculum: Energy Balance 101– Primary target grades: Prek-5
• Key dates– RFP available: May 7, 2013– Deadline: June 27, 2013– Project timeline: October 1, 2013 – April 30, 2014
Fire Up Your Feet
• A physical activity program that encourages families to walk more to and from school—and in daily life—while keeping track of their steps, and raising money for their PTA or school. – Families, students and schools work together and create
active lifestyles which inspire our children to be healthy and physically active.

• Oldest and largest youth arts education programs (~300,000 students and 8,000 PTAs each year)
