Scrap Metal Industry Study

Global Trading Corporation

There are various problems when considering a global business venture and many factors need to be addressed prior to entering into a global market place successfully. The overall supply chain must be reviewed to ensure that the complete operation is working as efficiency as possible at all times.

After many years in the global transportation consulting business, SCL believes in the philosophy of “total shipment management” from the beginning to the end. Total shipment management is a philosophy that will help ensure a seamless supply chain regardless of the nature of the trade.

GTC can focus on the aluminum trade with the option to expand into other non-ferrous metals such as copper. After GTC settles the aluminum trade and starts to show profitable results, SCL feels that a team should be developed within GTC to start the development of the exportation of copper from the United States to Turkey as well.

GTC needs to start looking into the possibility of starting a partnership with one of its customers thus directly investing in Turkey. Direct Foreign Investment is an investment made to acquire lasting interest in enterprises operating outside of the economy of the investor. This would benefit both sides by ensuring tax breaks, subsidies, low interest loans, grants, lifting of certain restrictions, reducing freight costs thus improving the business relationship.

Nuclear Fuel Importation Study

Global Trading Corporation

•International Trade Strategies•Partnership Networking•Business Contingency Planning

Page 6: Capstone Slide Show

Having researched the present and future market for both unrefined uranium ore and refined fuel we have come to focus primarily on the following issue:

Problem – Competition with other nuclear nations for the rights to export fuel from Kazakhstan.

Solution – Given Global Trading Corporation’s partnership with United States Enrichment Corporation , we hope to convince USEC, in cooperation with USEC/GNF to supply Kazakhstan with the means to refine uranium as well as construct fuel assemblies in exchange for future rights to uranium ore as well as various stages of refined uranium products.

CORE ISSUES

Natural deposits in Chu-Sarysu and Syrdarya totalling ¾ of Kazatomprom’s reserves will be loaded to cylinders for transport by container.

Shipments of natural uranium consisting of 15-20 containers will be shipped by rail cars to St. Petersburg, Russia.

Upon arrival in St. Petersburg, the containers will be loaded to a Mærsk ship.

The transatlantic voyage will make a stop in Bremerhaven, Germany and end with offloading in Charleston, SC.The containers will travel over land by truck to Pikland, OH for processing.

The fuel will be refined in Paducah for shipment to power plants around the country.

The partnership of Global Trading Corporation and United States Enrichment Corporation will aim to solidify the preeminent position in the global nuclear fuel trade through:

•Negotiations with Kazakhstan and its nuclear agency Kazatomprom for rights to uranium reserves in exchange for refining technology.

•The relocation of refining facilities to Kazakhstan allowing cost savings through reduced labor costs, government regulations and shipment sizes.

•Focusing on supplying not only the United States with fuel but also the emerging nuclear nations in the vicinity of Kazakhstan (i.e. China and India).
