We support the designers from the very first design concept, to accompany them in the choice of the most ap-propriate technical solutions to the context. We only use noble materials, manufacturing entirely the in-house hardware to offer solutions whose only standard is the custom-made product.

A NEW BEGINNING IN A LONG-STANDING HISTORY

For many people the United States of Ameri-ca are more than a big country, a federation of states; more than the sum of its cities, ethnic groups, cultures and myths. They are a model for liberty, possibilities and opportunities.

This is the spirit with which we have always ap-proached this great country every time we have been called - for a site visit first and for our con-tribution to the project later.

What we bring to the table is our know-how, our tools to measure and our proud craftmanship, but what we have always returned home with has been much more than what we offered: the desire to improve, the stimulus to innovate again and again, to anticipate the needs of the different project teams, to continuously raise the bar of our capabilities and to keep pushing the envelope.

We gradually matured through this mutual ex-perience - the Capoferri projects on American territory - from the first opportunities in the ‘70s to others, more and more important and always more frequent.

And thus, first out of passion and later out of interest also, we have consolidated our presence in the United States. In 2013 we appointed our

first representation in New York and today we fulfil a dream by inaugurating Capoferri USA Inc.; a means to bring the best of our culture to meet and dialogue with the American market.

Capoferri was founded in 1894 in a small village in northern Italy as a little artisan wood workshop. In over a century we have grown to become the global player we are today: not only specialised in the production of windows but successfully tac-kling projects of any type, scale or size.

The creation of Capoferri USA Inc. marks not only the achievement of a business target. It also constitutes a valuable tool to support our representatives and local distributors. This is an important step in the creation of an increasingly structured and extensive commercial network.

The first sign of this new beginning will be the opening of a showroom in the Hamptons on Long Island in spring 2019, which will not just be a showcase of products and services but a proper creative hub at the disposal of architects, consultants and clients: na institutional space designed to provide an increasingly pleasant and direct experience for the clients. One that facilitates the exchange of ideas as well as the support and service from our local partners and the team here at Capoferri.

level of interpretation.A complex and ambitious project that required absolute precision during manufacturing, as no correction was possible on site.All windows are made from thermally bro-ken stainless steel. Capoferri also provided the external metal cladding, skylights, automated openings and oversized lift&slide windows.

A distinct, iconic building immersed in the bre-athtaking landscape surrounding Aspen (Colora-do); designed by BCJ to be entirely permeated by natural light, creating a continuity of the surroun-ding and offering an extraordinary experience of the relationship between inside and outside.After sunset, the entire building glows like a lan-tern, emanating a magic aura that adds another

The transparency of the spaces floods the spa-cious interiors with daylight and create a con-stant dialogue with the nature that surrounds the building.A vast palette of natural materials has been cho-sen for the outdoor areas; materials which will reflect the passing of time in an ever-increasing harmony with the surroundings of the building.

This stunning two-storey residence on the sho-res of Long Island has been designed by Bohlin Cywinksy Jackson, who created an elegant com-bination of timber, steel and glass for this peace-ful retreat with its extraordinary view and the “soundtrack” of the ocean waves.The fully bespoke façades from marine-grade stainless steel feature lift&slide windows with extremely thin profiles. They help defining the overall architecture in a constant mutation and permeability of natural light, thanks also to the specially designed skylights with their peculiar automated opening mechanisms. Both the façades and the skylights have undergone extreme tests in our in-house testing facility, where they have been proved for the most critical weather conditions as well as wind loads and performance over time.

NotesWooden lift&slide windows.

This historic villa, located on the bank of the Bosporus, has been restored with a modern and contemporary twist.Capoferri provided the façade for this residence, which offers a stunning and exclusive view and encapsulates, thanks to highly sound-absorbing lift&slide windows, an oasis of peace in a city as frenetic as Istanbul.The exterior is an ensemble of lines and geome-tries, juxtaposing the vertical movement of the knee-fold sun-breaking panels and the horizontal cladding of the ventilated façade.While Mahogany has been the timber chosen for the windows, Capoferri opted for Red Cedar for the cladding. Both timbers are of the highest quality and very resistant to moist ambient, offe-ring different features, well known to Capoferri and carefully chosen to provide the best perfor-mance, resistance and durability for each speci-fic application.

The history of experimentation in the sector of special doors and windows is enriched with a new gem: the innovative window system gla-zed roofing specially designed for Hotel Eden.

Immersed in the stillness of the gardens of Villa Borghese, only a few steps away from the vibrant heart of the Italian capital, the Hotel offers it guests an enchanting view on the city of Rome.

For the panoramic roof terrace, which compri-ses a bar area and a restaurant, Capoferri engi-neered an innovative, automated opening, consi-sting of a combined pivot&lift movement, driven by a concealed mechanism controlling the ope-ning and closing of the window sash. A com-pletely hidden structure, merges design intent, aesthetics, safety requirements and ease-of-use.

The Bar area is covered with a glazed roof on a thermally broken support structure. A thin la-yer of water gently flows down the glazed sur-face and provides cooling as well as creating a unique atmosphere from where to admire the ineffable skyline of the eternal City.

The new, automated pivot&lift windows system that Capoferri have developed for the rooftop of the “Eden” Hotel in Rome is the result of intensive research and development by the Capoferri Lab.The windows are driven by a gear motor that allows for a simultaneous pivot and upward movement. The result is a system that guarantees quality and practicality as well as increased safety thanks to a glass parapet that is concealed inside a cavity in the actual wall structure where it remains invisible until it lifts upwards as the window opens.This detail as well as others allow for a virtually invisible mechanism that reflects the aesthetic requirements, the design and provides ease-of-use while fully complying with local code requirements.The sun-shading is automated and runs on stainless steel guides. A specially designed mechanism on the sash allows to open the windows even with the sun-shading rolled down.

Situated in the midst of a vast birch forest, this private villa in the well-known residential area of Barvikha, one of the most luxurious suburbs of Moscow, distinguishes itself for its elegance and sophistication.The rigid, austere structure is characterized by architectural openings that impose a symmetri-cal pattern on the overall façade.In order to underline the architectural context, GDG Architects chose windows from quarter-sawn oak to guarantee both the chromatic har-mony of the exterior and to allow the windows and doors to blend in well with the aesthetic language of the interior design.One of the main features, both from a stylistic and a manufacturing point of view, is the main entrance from thermally broken steel with a micaceous paint finish and its interior vestibu-le made from oak, as well as the conservatory, again made from thermally broken steel and clad on the inside with quarter-sawn oak.

The Villa Mostaccini, situated on the hills of Bordighera, is one of the most beautiful and im-portant villas in Liguria.Built in 1932 in the characteristic stile of the late Italian renaissance, it has been meticulously re-stored to the highest standards of design, while maintaining the original details that distinguish it.

Capoferri substituted all wood windows as well as their sills and reveals, maintaining the aspect of traditional windows and blending perfectly with the historic aesthetics of the villa.Where possible, certain elements, like for in-stance the internal wooden shutters and the brass handles, have been restored and refitted rather than substituted.

For the elegant living room with its stunning view of the sea, Architect Maiga opted for a lar-ge two-leaved pivot window from true bronze that offers the guests of the villa an unforgetta-ble experience.

Architect Valbonesi designed this private residen-ce near Chieti as a space where traditional and historic materials are perfectly integrated into the modern and contemporary style of the villa.

Capoferri has designed large, automated sli-ding Windows, which create a sense of perme-ability and transparency - a dialogue between the minimalism of the interiors and the nature surrounding it.

The external oak windows express austerity and rigour. Specifically designed and tailor-made, they feature special hardware that allows both swing and lift&slide operation, creating a monumental frontal that is both permeable and sealed in a play between verticality versus horizontality of the cladding.

The result is a residence elegant and evocati-ve which at the same time instils strength and safeness.

Notes Burglar-proof windows made from weathered true bronze, including hinged openings vertical pivot doors and sliding panels.

Automated, knee-fold sun-breaking panels made from cedar play with the depth of the in-coming light, creating always changing archi-tectural compositions with their movements.

The complex system of 2 sets of automated fabric shading, completely concealed and in-tegrated into the windows, playfully caresses the filtering light, now adding, now detracting depth to the various spaces of the villa.The pedestrian skylights on the upper floor, made from weathered true bronze, contribute to conferring largeness and light to the interiors.

Architect Elena Pancaldi of “Officina di Ar-chitettura” designed this private residence in Formigine, in the province of Modena, as a mi-nimalistic composition of elementary shapes, inspired by the timelessness of purity.The bespoke windows form an integral part of the visual narrative, where aesthetics merge with functionality.The lift&slide windows of the dining and living room, with their fixed lateral, glass-edge alig-ned partitions and the flush bottom threshold create a seamless continuity between the inter-nal space and the garden outside.
