Capital Renewal Planning Capital Renewal Planning - Recommended Guidelines and Cost Allocations:Capital Renewal is to maintain existing facilities and extend Life Cycle

APPA Formula:Annual budget allocation for routine maintenance and capital renewal is in the range of 2% to 4% of the aggregate current replacement value (CRV) (excluding major infrastructure, additions, renovations, etc.)

Capital Renewal Planning - Recommended Guidelines:APPA Formula:When a backlog of deferred maintenance has been allowed to accumulate, spending must exceed this minimum level until the backlog has been eliminated. APPA formula for BASD: (2,500,000 SF @ $200 @ 1.5% = $7,500,000). 16 ES, 4 MS, 2 HS, 4 Other Facilities for a total of 26. Recommendation has been to provide $2 million annually for Capital Renewal.
