Electrical Projects Australia (EPA) was established in 1986 and is New South Wales’ most prominent electrical design company. Operating from our Newcastle & Sydney offices EPA consists of team of experienced electrical engineers, design draftspersons, draftspersons, site supervisors, tracers and secretarial staff. Specialising in the provision of electrical engineering, consulting and project administration services to the commercial building, public building, public infrastructure, alternate power generation, mining, cotton, grain handling and general industrial markets EPA offer a highly competitive and cost effective service. We have developed a level of expertise in our chosen fields which allows us to provide a professional service to our valued customers. We have developed a sound basis of technical skills reinforced with practical experience and can provide a range of services that ensure that our clients requirements are fully satisfied.

QUALITY

EPA projects are set up with a Project Quality Plan. The PQP is developed to ensure quality objectives are met in accordance with our Client’s requirements. The PQP is regularly reviewed and updated throughout the project to ensure appropriate quality over the duration of the project. Quality control through consistent monitoring is performed on all projects to ensure compliance with procedures and conformance to Australian Standards, codes and specifications. EPA is currently seeking AS9001 accreditation. Several companies, including Pacific Power, RICO and Saipem Australia have independently assessed EPA and found that we met their exacting standards.

Lead by Director, Paul Malanchuk, who has over 20 years of experience within the Electrical Engineering industry our experienced and dedicated employees are the driving force of our company. At Electrical Projects Australia, our team of experienced professionals is the

driving force of our company. EPA is made up of five highly skilled and

knowledgeable Electrical Engineers, three drafting personnel with over 50 years’

combined experience in the electrical design industry and two accomplished

administrative/support persons.

HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATIONMINING

HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATION & DESIGN

EPA can provide Hazardous Area Electrical Design for industrial work environments where there are likely to be highly volatile and dangerous work areas. AS/NZS 60079 series requires the owner of a hazardous area electrical installation to keep and maintain a dossier including information on the installation's operation, testing, certification, inspection, maintenance, and repair. Our specialist engineers are trained in Hazardous Area Design, Installation and Inspection and can provide the following services:

ARC FLASH ASSESSMENT

An Arc Flash is the plasma cloud that develops during and following an electrical fault, whereby the insulating properties of air are overcome through rapid ionisation. An arc flash is an uncontrolled chaotic event, as opposed to the controlled interruption of electrical arcs that are a normal part of electrical operation to interrupt current within an item of switchgear such as an isolator, circuit breaker or contactor.

Electrical Projects Australia has staff who are highly trained in Arc Flash and can provide your company with an Arc Flash Assessment to ensure the highest level of safety is achieved. As an employer, under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 it is the responsibility of a person conducting a business or undertaking at a workplace to keep their workers safe and prevent a potentially catastrophic event from occurring. If an arc flash accident occurred and the employer had reasonably practicable means of preventing it, the employer may be liable under the act.
