1.2. General Information Mark Millman Marine is based in a comprehensively equipped facility in Geraldton. A highly skilled production team, in-house designing and low overheads guarantee extremely competitive prices for every build, while the continued personal input from directors and management of the privately-owned organization ensure an on-time delivery at a firm contract price. In-house facilities include shipwrighting, naval architecture (outsourced), engineering (outsourced), aluminium fabrication, stainless steel fabrication and woodworking while highly qualified sub-contractors experienced in naval and government contracts are employed for all electrical, electronic, hydraulic and machining tasks.
2
The philosophy behind every vessel completed by Mark Millman Marine is easy to understand. The company doesn't claim to build the most boats, but it does claim to build the best.
This dedication to quality design, construction and engineering guided company director Mark Millman through his apprenticeship as a shipwright and formed the solid foundation on which he established Mark Millman Marine in 1987.
Years later it has lifted the organization to a position of leadership in the extremely competitive aluminium boat building industry in Western Australia.
Mark Millman Marine understands the necessity to produce cost-efficient, economical vessels that combine low maintenance with outstanding customer appeal. These are the finest available in terms of performance, seaworthiness, lasting durability and re-sale value.
The company's success has resulted in large part from meeting the stringent standards insisted on by owner skippers in the lucrative West Australian lobster fishery who demand vessels they can take to sea, whatever the conditions.
The list of completions and deliveries locally and for export ranges from high performance, both conventionally propelled and jet-powered, to catamarans that combine high speed with maximum load carrying capacity. All have been designed to meet exactly the requirements of their owners and range from comparatively small craft to fishing boats up to 21 metres in overall length.
Foot Note: Mark Millman served his apprenticeship with Millman Services, a company founded by his father who pioneered the development of high performance aluminium fishing boats and workboats. Mark's training and experience with aluminium boat construction (which includes a 20 metre patrol boat for the Australian Customs Service, a 12 metre patrol boat for the Fisheries Department, 4 x 7.5M tactical response catamaran’s for the Australian Customs Service and a 18.3M multipurpose hydrographical survey vessel for the Port of Melbourne Corporation and design is now reflected in all craft completed by Mark Millman Marine.
