Our language and leisure programme has been designed to give you an integrated learning experience. Each day is made up of a combination of engaging classroom-based English language lessons, workshops, activities and excursions. All this gives you the opportunity to acquire new language and practice your communication skills with English-speakers. Please see the centre timetable for the daily schedule. Our Canterbury Centre is based at the Canterbury Christchurch University, just 5 minutes on foot from the old city walls. Single en-suite study bedrooms 3 meals a day served in a modern dining area. Canterbury is an excellent location for this. It’s a small vibrant city and has anexciting selection of things to see and do all within easy reach of one another. The Anglo programme includes half-day visits to the famous CanterburyCathedral and the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, and students also getplenty of opportunity to explore the cobbled streets with their attractive boutiquesand cafes.
At the weekend, we go a bit further afield and there are full-day excursions toLondon and Leeds Castle, amongst others. All travel is by private coach, and thereis the option to have a travel card and use the Tube in London, if desired.
In the evenings, there’s the opportunity to participate in talent shows, find newfriends in speed dating, play bingo, test your knowledge in the weekly quiz andshow off your dance moves at the disco.
CARING, ATTENTIVE TEACHERS & STAFF
Our summer team have been selected for theirexperience in and suitability for working with youngpeople.Anglo centre mangers are responsible for ensuring thesmooth-running of the programme and most have hadmany years of experience on summer courses.Quite a few of our teaching staff have worked with us forseveral summers as well, and have been involved indeveloping the syllabus by contributing ideas they havetried and tested at centre.We are also proud that many of our activity team arereturners and that some move into managementpositions, using their experience to make the programmebetter and safer each year.
