Introduction O Our topic focuses merely on the

production, the transportation, and the effects of heroin and cocaine in the United States and the rest of the world.

HeroinO Heroin is the illegal drug made from

the opium poppy plants. O Heroin often goes by Smack, dope,

and brown sugar. O Dope Can be injected,

snorted or smoked either way gives a potent high.

What’s the most popular technique???

O The most popular way to use heroin is to “shoot” it into your blood stream with a needle.

O This produces a “high” within 6-8 seconds

Side effects of heroinO As heroin travels through your

bloodstream, it ultimately affects the entire human body.

How does it affect your brain?

O Your brain is a precious organ in your body it controls things such as your heart beat and respiration, and because it is so important, it doesn't allow just anything to enter its pace.

O Special epithelial cells line the capillaries in the brain and spinal cord keeping things in the blood stream out.

CocaineO Cocaine is a highly addictive

stimulative drug O It is illegal to possess, produce, or

distribute cocaine for non-medicinal and non-government-sanctioned purposes in almost every country.

How Cocaine is made..O Cocaine is manufactured from the

leaves of the coca plant. O The coca plant is

commonly found in numerous South American countries.

“Paste”O To make the paste, there is a

process of extracting the cocaine that includes the use of toxic chemicals.

O This paste is further cooked and cut with adulterant substances to make it into “street level” cocaine.

O Once cocaine is constructed into street level cocaine, it is finally able to be sold by drug dealers and used by their customers.

O Cocaine can constrict blood vessels in the brain, causing strokes and seizures.

O The use of cocaine can also lead to bizarre or violent behavior.

Massachusetts in 1987 at his mansion on Nauset Beach, near Chatham. 

O He skipped bail with his family but very quickly became involved in another deal.

O Currently George Jung is incarnated in the Federal Correctional Institute in Texas, after a transfer from Otisville Federal Prison, New York.

O His projected release date is November 27, 2014.

O Which is about 580 days from now…..

public in 2001 after his life story was portrayed in the hit movie “Blow”

O Starring  Johnny Depp as Jung and Penélope Cruz as Jung’s Mexican wife.
