Campus to Corporate Activities for VI Semester Students
The School of Lifelong Learning in its endeavor to enrich students’ knowledge and skills plans various
activities from time to time, across the two Galgotias’ campuses. For the VIth semester students, SLLL
had planned the following activities in order to groom these students in Presentation Skills, Oratory
Skills, Personality Development, Group Discussions, Resume Writing etc. Of these activities, the first
two, that is, Presentation Skills and Group Discussion have been successfully held at GCET and GU during
the months of February and March.
1. Presentations
The session started with a brief on the
importance of effective presentation skills and
its practical use in our everyday life. Each class
was divided into groups and given a topic on
which they would be presenting in a few weeks
time. The topics were chosen from a renowned
book by the highly influential Management Guru
Steven Covey- “7 Habits of Highly Effective
People”. The seven habits are: Be Proactive,
Begin with End in mind, Put First things First, Seek
to understand then be understood, Think Win-Win,
Synergize, Sharpen your Saw. These habits were
giving to teams as their Presentation topics. This
choice of topics served two purposes- it
encouraged students to do worthwhile reading and
exposed them to inspirational and aspirational
values. During the sessions the trainers motivated
the students to read the book and align themselves
to universal and timeless principles of character. This
session was helpful in introducing the ‘inside-out’
approach.

Group Discussion
Group Discussion is a modern method of assessing students’ personality.
It is both a technique and an art and a comprehensive tool to judge the worthiness of the student and his appropriateness for the job. The term suggests a discussion among a group of persons.
The group can express their views freely, frankly in a friendly manner, on a topic of current issue within the given time limit the abilities of the members of the group is measured.

Job Fair
April 8, 2016 Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology
In order to give the pre final year students exposure of
the corporate world, the BTech Semester -6 students are
undergoing an extensive program called “Campus to
Corporate”. This program enables students to get their
dream job and to seamlessly blend into the corporate
world. As a part of this program, SLLL has organized a three
day event called - Job Fair, which is a formal interaction in a
simulated corporate environment designed to help students
showcase their skills both as interviewees and interviewers.
Students were divided into groups in their batches
representing different companies. It was indeed impressive to
see how the students successfully took on the corporate role
plays.
The 1st round of the event was organized
from April 6th to 8th at GCET, with 500
students participating across various
branches.
To appreciate and encourage our
achievers at the event, we had four
categories of awards –Mr. & Miss
Corporate, Best Interviewer & Best
Interviewee. The awards were
decided on the basis of code of
conduct, proper formal dressing,
and appropriateness of the
answers given.
