September 11, 2015 FAU Owls will host the Miami

Hurricanes in a nationally televised football game with a sell-out crowd of 30,000 in the

FAU Stadium.

Undergraduate research can take place in every discipline. It is especially common in the life sciences and physical sciences, where an estimated 40 percent of students nationwide engage in research

under faculty mentorship, but it is also found in the humanities, social sciences, and creative and performing arts.

The Trading Room at FAU’s College of Business replicates a real-world trading experience and

functions as a classroom and a laboratory.

The Exercise Science and Health Promotion program is one of the fastest growing majors at FAU. Students learn in state-of-the-art

laboratories and conduct innovative research. The program prepares students for careers in physical therapy, sports medicine,

rehabilitation, fitness, and health promotion.

The FAU Ocean Engineering program was the first in the nation when it was established in 1965. FAU has a human powered submarine team

which won first place for the best use of composite materials and third place for speed at the 10th International Submarine Race.

The Pre-Health Professions Program prepares and advises students who want to apply for admission to professional programs such as medicine,

dentistry, physician assistant, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and optometry. FAU students have traditionally achieved the

highest admission success rates to professional programs among all universities in Florida.

FAU Business Plan Competition Teams participating in the competition have the

opportunity to meet and network with experienced venture capital principals, early stage angel investors,

successful entrepreneurs, and senior business leaders who will serve as judges for the competition.

FAU Wins 2nd Place at International RoboBoat Competition During the competition, student teams put their autonomous unmanned surface vehicles through a series of challenges, including vehicle navigation, obstacle avoidance and autonomous docking. The teams also were evaluated on design including quality of engineering and craftsmanship.

The School of Architecture prepares students by developing an understanding of design as an interpretive process, where students

will acquire a broadened capacity to recognize societal responsibilities and exercise ethical judgment in improving the

quality of our physical environment, and with it, our quality of life.

The Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial Music focuses on composition, technology and business. The program offers

comprehensive academic and performance training to prepare students for advanced study and professional careers in music.
