Introduction Project description is clearly being depicted

by its name :- CAMPUS LIVE

As far as the brevity of the project is

concerned. The project on which I amworking is basically dealt t with databasemanagement of a college campus.

Starting with the procedure fromregistration of both a student and employeeuntil any of them leaves the campus wholeinformation is stored and maintained in

    database .Mid-Term Evaluation

    Contd ..

The main focus of the project involves :-

    a) Administration and Monitoring of data indatabase

Securing and Restoring data by keeping backupsand performing restoration and recovery tokeep the database at pace whenever corruptionor inconsistency of database occurs or comeinto picture.

Configuration of stand by pcs and which willlead to normal functioning of the database in asituation when the main system gets down.

These standby pcs not only helps in

the phenomena of fault tolerance butalso is very helpful in the today's

    scenario.

    Today's databases are 365 days 24*7 at

up time and in case a major problem

occurs and main systems need to beshut down for some time for the

    problem to be solved ,

Then at that time these standby

    systems which record each activity

helps to keep the database in upstate.

    Performance Tuning of the database

and auditing all the activitiesperformed by the user in his session

    Why oracle is used ?

As far as the back-end of this project isconcerned we have used oracle 1og

For answering the why question of

why it is being used , it can be briefly

    answered through following points :-

    1) It is the most powerful andwidespread rdbms and it is the only

vendor to offer a complete technology

stack in which every layer is integrated

to work as a single system.Mid-Term Evaluation

Cotd2) oracle database 1og further reduces

time , cost and complexity of thedatabase management through the

    introduction of self managing features

such as Automatic Database diagnosticMonitor , Automated Storage

    Management , Automated Disk Based

    Backup and Recovery.

Moreover , It supports parallel processing

and also it is platform independent.

There are man more reasons etcMid-Term Evaluation

    Anomalies of Existing System

In the current system the whole work

used to very tedious and boring as it

    was done manually. Moreover this

project will not only lead to

    automated system

As far as the users are concerned the

users or the target audience isstudents, visitors, administration,

    staff, faculty etc.

    Goals of future system

Turn the manual work into a

    automated system.

Handle all the user requests and

    provide services appropriately.

    Further Research and

    Developments are being done we

are trying to store videos in

    database and display them by

    configuring the browser.
