INTERVARSITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP PROFILE Founded in 1941, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA has 985 student and faculty chapters on 649 college campuses, operates a large missions program, and published more than 300 new and revised titles via InterVarsity Press in 2015. InterVarsity’s current annual budget exceeds $100 million. Every three years InterVarsity hosts the Urbana Student Missions Conference, its flagship event aimed at mobilizing every student generation to participate in God’s global mission. Since 1946 Urbana has shaped more than 300,000 people, motivating thousands to take up Christian service in missions, business, health-care professions, and the church around the world. Today in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a whole, 1,700 staff and volunteers serve more than 41,000 core students and faculty. “Core” is defined as those who have at least 50 percent participation in chapter meetings and events. The actual number of students and faculty impacted by InterVarsity’s ministry is much higher. InterVarsity/USA is theologically evangelical and fiscally sound, and has a deep commitment to multiethnicity and collaborative partnership. Currently 38 percent of its core students and faculty are people of color. Our Purpose In response to God’s love, grace, and truth: the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world. Our Vision Our vision is to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed.
