God’s love is with us. Everything is interrelated by the love of God for all creation – a world woven together by human care. While we plan to return to our in-person programs after the first of the year, 450 individuals have participated in our online events since our first virtual program in June of 2020. This is more than twice the usual number of retreatants. The programs we are offering seem to be meeting the needs of the people we serve. Our decisions about the forms that our programs take (in-person or online) are driven by the science of health and safety. The programs in this 2021 brochure reflect the “Programs and Events” calendar on the C&R website (www.campioncenter.org/ programs). While the brochure is familiar to us all, it is static once mailed. The website is regularly updated. We encourage you to use our website to register for programs and events. We have updated and simplified the registration process on our website. Deposits and payments are no longer required at the time of registration. Simply register, C&R will confirm your registration, and will contact you closer to the date of the event for your online payment. We are inspired by Pope Francis’ homily on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. (9.1.20) One of his observations regarding the global pandemic was how we have re-discovered that a simpler lifestyle, shared values, and basic human connections can be so life-giving. We have been freed to heal strained human relationships and restore some of the original harmony of creation – to heal the earth and repair it. The global COVID pandemic — compounded by the impact of a weak economy, and the continued horror of racism, injustice, and violence – has caused us to slowdown. In this quieted world, the cries of the earth, the poor, and the sick have in some ways become louder and more painful. People are coming together to reflect on what’s really important, rebuild our common home, and defend the most vulnerable in our world. We are to be part of this important jouney.
