The facilities at Camp Kintail are available for rental throughout April, May, June, September, October & November. The site covers 24 acres of wooded land on the beautiful, sandy shore of Lake Huron, situated half way between Goderich and Kincardine. Come and enjoy our wonderful sandy beach with Lake Huron sunsets that are rated in the top 10 in the world, and relax in the tranquility of our natural setting and comfortable buildings.

Our Facilities are well maintained and we are continuously upgrading and improving to meet our guest’s needs. We have approximately 35 buildings on our site, and a good sized fully stocked commercial kitchen with a walk in cooler attached. You may cook for yourself or hire Camp Kintail to cater. Kintail’s well trained professional sta� are eager to provide programming for your group such as rock climbing, zipline, canoeing and kayaking, team building exercises, games and much more. Camp Kintail is committed to excellent hospitality during your stay and will provide a sta� member who will be your contact taking care of any needs you or your group may have.

Camp Kintail has overall sleeping capacity for more than 300 people, the main dining hall in MacDonald Lodge can comfortably seat 250. MacKay Hall can be used as a second dining hall and seat up to 75 people. There are picnic tables and firewood at all buildings.

MacDonald Lodge

Harmony House

Macdonald lodge has a dining hall that can seat 250 comfortably with a fireplace and piano, a large fully equipped commercial kitchen, a furnished meeting room for small groups with tables and couches and refrigerator, and 4 washrooms (14 toilets and 16 showers). There are 8 private bedrooms in the back of this building, 3 of which have a single/single bunk bed and a single bed to sleep 3 people each, and the other 5 rooms each have a queen/single bunk bed with a single/single bunk bed to sleep 4-5 each. See the floor plan on the website under rental/facilities for room configurations. There are laundry facilities in the back of MacDonald Lodge if needed, and a 6-foot commercial BBQ.

Harmony House is the original Lodge that has been fully restored. This charming building has both indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a large meeting/dining room that seats approximately 80 people which includes a projector screen and piano, a smaller meeting room that seats approx. 25 people, washrooms and a full kitchen. It has a large wrap-around deck with 50 feet covered, you can hear and view Lake Huron from this deck. The covered deck has 5 round tables with 6 chairs at each, outdoor lighting & some comfy chairs around a chimenea. This building is used as a stand-alone meeting and dining facility for groups of less than 70 people. There are 2 bathrooms, laundry facilities, and an updated kitchen that includes a BBQ on the deck.

Feathers CottageFeathers is a beautiful retreat cottage that is equipped with a household kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, three bedrooms, and a comfortable living room with a pull out couch. Feathers sleeps up to 8, has an oil furnace and central air conditioning, and is great for a small group retreat or a comfortable space for leaders or older members attending your retreat when using MacDonald Lodge or Harmony House.

Facilities

Rec HallThe Rec Hall is a large building with indoor space and seats up to 150. It has a wooden floor, new windows, low stage at the front, and is equipped with rectangular tables and chairs, a built-in sound system, keyboard and projector screen. The Rec Hall is suitable for games, worship, indoor sports, meetings, or active workshops. It has a loft upstairs (only accessible by stairs) that can be used for small group discussions or activities.

Our spacious Cabins sleep ten to twelve in bunk beds. There are 20 cabins with electricity and heat that are insulated and are fully accessible. All cabins have front and back doors with decks, a picnic table, good vinyl covered mattresses on bunk beds, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. Guests staying in cabins use the shared washroom facilities at cabin hill wash house, MacDonald Lodge or Harmony House.

Yurts are a unique accommodation type o�ered at Camp Kintail. There are four Yurts in total, one on Cabin Hill (Mulberry) and three placed in the woods in the glen (Chestnut, Walnut & Pecan). All yurts are insulated, have electricity, 5 bunk beds, 4 windows and a nice skylight that opens with a vent. The yurts in the Glen have an outhouse and private firepit. They can be rented by themselves, or with any other buildings.

RVs, Trailers & TentsWe have designated areas where RV’s & Trailers can be parked and setup. We have electrical outlets available, but no sewage hookups. It must be agreed to where RV’s and Trailers will park with Camp Kintail, they are not permitted in some areas of the campsite. There are many great spots where people can stay in tents around our site.

AccessibilityAll of our main building and cabins are fully accessible. MacDonald Lodge and Feathers have

accessible washrooms. There are Accessibility ramps to both the Beach and the Glen.

WIFI___There is fast, reliable broadband wifi access around all our

main buildings which can accommodate a high number of users.

$2 / personCatering can be arranged for groups. A Custom menu will be agreed to by your group and the chef. Numbers and menu must be set one week before your group arrives to order food and prepare.

All meals can include a vegetarian option, fresh fruit is available on the kitchen counter, and unlimited co�ee, tea and juice is provided. We are a nut aware facility, and can accommodate most dietary concerns if made aware one week prior to arrival.

Special rates can be negotiated for large groups, and rates can be adjusted depending on the menus choices requested by group.

Details and Next StepsProgrammingCamp Kintail sta� are available to o�er programming in the areas of rock climbing, low ropes challenge course, archery, disc golf, arts & crafts, music & drama, canoeing & kayaking, lifeguarding, and nature. When booking please indicate if you would like sta� to run any of these program activities. The cost depends on group size and which options you are choosing.

Clean-Up & Site StewardshipClean-up, composting, recycling, cleaning of bathrooms and garbage procedures are your responsibility, unless you arrange to hire Camp Kintail sta� to do this for your group.

PaymentAt the end of your stay, we will agree to the actual number of participants and you are only invoiced for people who attended. You will receive your invoice to be paid within 15 days by cash or cheque made payable to Camp Kintail. You can pay by credit card but there is a 3% charge added to your invoice. Note: for catering, you pay for the number of people you arranged food for 1 week in advance.

Camp Kintail’s Guidelines for Site Use

Taking Care of Our Site• Please take care with our site and throw out all garbage and recycling in the provided bins in everybuilding.• Please park and drive in the designated gravel areas.• Please do not drive on the Grass anywhere on the Site.

Emergencies and First Aid• In the case of an emergency please inform a Kintail sta� member as soon as possible.• Every building on site contains fire extinguishers and main buildings have first aid kits.• An AED is located in MacDonald Lodge.

Smoking• Camp Kintail is a smoke-free facility. There is a designated smoking area in the main parking lot with

a butt Container.

Wifi• Camp Kintail o�ers wifi access in MacDonald Lodge, Harmony House, Feathers and the Rec Hall.

Recreation• Equipment is available for gaga ball, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes and disc golf, a Kintail sta�member will be happy to help you with accessing recreation equipment.

Drinking Water• All water on site is tested and safe for drinking

1. To reserve the facilities for your group’s stay at Camp Kintail, please complete the Camp Kintail Rental

Request Form and return it to confirm your reservation date. Please include a deposit of $350 for the use of cabins and either MacDonald Lodge or Harmony House or $70.00 for Feathers, as well as the $300 catering fee if desired. The deposit must be received to confirm your rental of the site and facilities.

2. Payment must be made in full within fifteen days of your use of the camp by cash or cheque made payable to Camp Kintail. You can pay by credit card but there is a 3% charge added to your invoice.

3. In order to allow the camp site to be used to its full potential, the camp reserves the right to rent different facilities to different groups on the same weekend. Priority is given to the group with the most participants.

4. Rental groups are responsible for all damage to camp buildings and property. If there is any damage to the campsite or graffiti written anywhere, the group will forfeit its deposit. (a lesser amount can be agreed to by the Camp Director, ex. If a window breaks you would be charged the cost to fix it, or if graffiti is written on the walls or bunk beds in a cabin, you would be charged for the time it takes someone to remove it)

5. Clean-up, composting, recycling, and garbage procedures will be made available to you upon arrival, unless you have hire Camp Kintail to take care of this for you. All garbage and recycling is the renter’s responsibility to remove from buildings and put in the appropriate garbage or recycling dumpster located in the parking lot. Note: all cleaning supplies and garbage bags are made available with your rental, they are located in the janitorial room in MacDonald Lodge.

6. Rental groups are responsible for their own clean up (unless group hires Camp Kintail to clean) including: a. Sweeping out and removing all belongings and garbage from all buildings, rooms and cabins used by

the group. b. Sweeping out and mopping washrooms, cleaning sinks and toilets. c. Removing all garbage to the dumpsters. d. Washing all dishes following instructions, removing all leftover food after the group’s stay, cleanup

of stove, walk in refrigerator, counters, sinks, and sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor. We ask that one or two people take responsibility for and be present each time the dishwasher in MacDonald Lodge is used. Please use the sinks for dishwashing less than five racks of dishes. Detergent is provided. **Unless receiving catering for the Kintail Kitchen in which case Kintail staff will handle cleanup of Kitchen and dishes.

7. If you are going to swim, your group must have qualified lifeguards with National Lifeguard Service certification who are at least eighteen years old. If you need a lifeguard, please contact the Camp Director at least three weeks prior to the rental. If no lifeguard present do not go in the water.

8. Smoking is not permitted on the Camp Kintail site, people can go and smoke at the entrance gate. 9. There is no public telephone at Camp Kintail, use of Camp Kintail’s telephone is only permitted with

permission from the Camp Director. Do not answer or use Camp Kintail’s telephone otherwise. 10. All guests must respect the natural environment of the site and help to keep it clean.

11. Campfires are to be built only in designated fire pits. Absolutely no fires are to be built in the areas of the

cabins, other buildings, or in the woods. Wood is provided for your group close to each firepit. 12. No graffiti is to be written on walls or bunks in cabins or rooms. 13. No driving on the grass anywhere, please stay on the gravel driveways and gravel parking areas. Please use

the parking lot for all vehicles. Do not leave vehicles in front of MacDonald Lodge or Harmony House, these areas are always needed for deliveries.

14. Groups will only use buildings or rooms agreed to in their rental form and assigned to them by the staff. 15. Camp Kintail is a nut free facility. Please do not bring any products onto the campsite that contain nuts. 16. Upon leaving, each group needs to have a signed agreement from a Camp Kintail staff indicating the site has

been left in good cleanliness and repair, and that your group has followed the guidelines above. When this form is signed, your deposit will be deducted from your total amount owing.

17. All furniture is to be left where it is, nothing can be moved without permission from Camp Kintail. 18. Camp Kintail quiet hours are 10:30pm until 7:00am. No loud noises during these times.

It is the responsibility of each group to inform their members of this agreement.

Please contact one of the Camp Directors with any questions or concerns about anything in this agreement. For certain groups or situations, suitable amendments can be agreed to. Confirmation By my signature below, and on behalf of the rental group, I agree to the following:

• That I have fully read and understand the rental contract and agree to take responsibility • That the group will operate within the rental policy guidelines • That I will make the group aware of the rules as stated in the guidelines, prior to the group’s arrival • That the group agrees to leave equipment and buildings in the same condition as at the time of their

arrival • That I will make arrangements for the group to reimburse Camp Kintail for any damages to buildings

and/or equipment, beyond normal wear, as determined by Camp Kintail Staff and yourself. If equipment is lost, I will arrange for the rental group to pay the cost of replacement, as determined by Camp Kintail Staff.

• The Rental Group covenants with Camp Kintail to indemnify and save harmless the Camp against and from any and all claims, including all claims for personal injury or property damage arising from any conduct or of by or through any act of omission of the rental group and against and from all costs, counsel fees, expense and liabilities incurred in or about any such claim or action or proceeding brought thereon, whether such claim from the rental group’s activity on or off the campgrounds. Accident and Liability Insurance are recognized to be the responsibility of the rental group.

• Camp Kintail shall not be liable or responsible in any way for any loss of damage or injury to any property belonging to the rental group of for which the rental group may be responsible whether such property is on or off the campgrounds.

I understand that the camp has several facilities and reserves the right to book groups in each of these facilities at any time, unless otherwise agreed to in the contract above.
