BEING WITH FRIENDS AND CONNECTING WITH GOD IS THE BEST PART OF CAMP!

Page 3: Camp Ithiel 2015 Summer Camps Brochure

This isn't just any camp. This is Camp Ithiel! We are a Christian camp located in Gotha, Florida. We offer multiple summer camp experiences, giving youth between the ages of six and eighteen the opportunity to experience God's creation outdoors along with the comfort of air-conditioned facilities! Our summer camps give campers the chance to participate in fun and exciting activities like canoeing, life-size angry birds, archery, hiking, 9 Square in the Air, gaga ball, cookouts, campfires, arts and crafts, and much more.

Camp is a special place for youth to also explore and enrich their faith. Our desire at Camp Ithiel is to challenge campers to grow intimately in their relationships with Jesus and walk with Him every day of their lives. This means diving into Scripture while experiencing fun and exciting adventures. We promote faith formation through activities such as daily Bible studies, small groups, morning devotions and evening worships!

We want campers to recognize the incredible love of Christ through outstanding counselors and staff. We exist to provide a safe Christian environment where youth can encounter God through worship, creation and Christian community. What better way to spend your summer than having fun at Camp Ithiel. Come and join us!

2015 SUMMER THEMEPower Up: Living in the Spirit

2,000 years ago—before ascending to heaven after rising from the dead—Jesus promised His disciples that power would come upon them, enabling them to become an incredible witness for Him throughout the earth. That power, of course, would come not through earthly means, like, political office, work status, education or money. Not as Jesus would have it.

The power Jesus promised would come through one divine source. That source He called an Advocate, Counselor, Comforter, Helper and Teacher for His disciples: the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of God is the Christian’s ultimate power source. This summer our theme is “Power Up: Living in the Spirit!” We will study what life with the Holy Spirit looks like for disciples of Jesus, a life of powerful living, good fruit and unending celebration.

Summer Camp OFFERING

Every summer Camp Ithiel collects an offering that goes toward a ministry we believe is taking Jesus seriously. This summer we will collect gifts for Church World Service, an organization committed to fighting hunger and poverty around the world.

Do you know that some 805 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life? That is about one in nine people on earth. This should not be. Nobody should go to bed every night with a hungry stomach.

God has equipped the Church—disciples of the same Jesus who was moved with compassion to feed 5,000 people—to be at the center of world hunger, leveraging time, energy and resources to join the vulnerable in their time of need. This summer we invite campers to help change the world through their giving.

For more information about Church World Service, visit www.cwsglobal.org.

ContactCamper Mail: Campers love receiving mail while at camp. We encourage parents/guardians to send their campers mail. We recommend sending mail out Monday or Tuesday to ensure campers receive them before leaving Saturday. Emailed letters can be sent to [email protected] with the camper's name as the subject. Camper mail is distributed Thursday evening at dinner.

Cell Phones: Our culture has become increasingly connected, especially via cell phones. We realize that. However, we do not allow the use of cell phones while at camp because they easily become distractions. Campers are asked to leave electronics home or turn them in to us upon check-in.

If a family emergency requires the need to reach your camper, you are more than able to do that. Simply call camp's office phone and we will connect you with your camper immediately. Call (407) 293-3481.
