• Only invited dates may attend Camp Illumination

• Camp Illumination occurs at Camp Buckner, but all parking is at West Point near the Parade Field

• There will be busses from Cullum Hall to Camp Buckner (see timeline for more information)

• All visitors must check in at the Visitors Control Center before 1745 to access West Point

• All visitors must have a valid state-issued ID card or a valid passport to access West Point

• Changing rooms are available in Cullum Hall starting at 1730. Busses will depart at 1900.

• Busses back to West Point depart at 2320.

General Information

• All visitors must go through the Visitors Control Center and the vehicle security screening at West Point to board the busses to Camp Buckner

• The Visitors Control Center closes at 1800. Be there by 1745.

• State-issued IDs or valid passports are required

• Large bags must be left in automobiles before boarding the bus

• Small bags (purses or wallets) are permitted, but will be searched before boarding the bus

Timeline

• First, go to the Visitors Control Center.

• Next, proceed to the Clinton Field & Doubleday Field Parking Lots.

• Changing/bus staging will be in Cullum Hall.

• All bags (except purses and wallets) will be left in vehicles at West Point.

Go to the Visitors Control Center to check in before Thayer Gate:

The first of two gates at Thayer Road. The first inspects your ID, the second inspects your ID and vehicle:

1 Thayer Road, West Point, NY 10996.

Thayer Gate

• Stay on Thayer Road until it turns into Cullum Road, which you will continue straight onunderneath Mahan Hall.

• Thayer Road will also travel underneath a stone overhead walkway.

• After the walkway, Cullum Hall is the first light-colored building on your right.

• Search “Cullum Hall, West Point, NY”

• Park in the first parking lot on your LEFT after the baseball field.

• Then return to Cullum Hall to change & load buses. Use the side door of Cullum Hall. After changing, bags and personal items will be left inside your personal vehicle.

• After you return to USMA, you may get your bags from your vehicle to change out of your semi-formal attire.

• The Friday night Camp Illumination is a semi- formal event.

• Cadets will wear India Whites with Chapel Belt

• The civilian equivalent for men is a summer weight business suit or sport jacket, collared button down shirt with tie.

• Women, due to the warm weather, may wear a knee-length semi-formal dress, tea-length dress, or floor-length dress or gown. Flats and sandals are acceptable as you may be walking on a sandy beach. You will be dancing if you so choose.
