Camp Guide 2010

2010 brings many changes to Camp Fairview

“a time to begin again”

God has blessed Camp Fairview with an amazing history. From its founding by Dr. Jack Scallions in 1974, God has used our camp as a tool in reaching hundreds of young people. After more than three decades of ministries, second and third generation campers are being enrolled each summer. Pastors, missionaries, and other full time Christian servants point back to life-changing decisions at Camp Fairview. Many young people saved at Camp Fairview now serve as active laymen in churches.

Over these years, junior and teen camps, weekend retreats, school groups, family camps and men’s retreats were held introducing campers to Bible-preaching, scripture memory and wholesome activities to be remembered for a lifetime. Truly the camp has been used of the Lord.

This year the Fairview Baptist Church has purposed to give the camp a fresh look. We will be updating facilities, programs and grounds. Through sacrificial giving and determined labor all facilities will be renovated and outfitted with new furnishings. Attendees at this year’s camp will see little resemblance in their accommodations to what stood in their place a year ago.

But Camp Fairview was never about land, buildings, or furniture. It was about reaching people and touching them with the Word of God. It was about providing a place where

young people can get away from worldly influences to be influenced by our Saviour. It was about the work of

Jesus Christ, and that is what we must focus on.

Please pray about having your church group attend Camp Fairview this year. The camp is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. There is

limited space available. Call the church office

today to hold a place for your church group. Look over

this resource with prayerful hearts and ask God to direct you. We look forward to seeing you at camp.

Junior Camps

A group of campers have followed there ranger guide deep into the woods for what they thought was a routine scouting trip. Little did they know that they would be hopelessly “Lost in the Woods”. Now the brave rangers have to get both the Greenhorns and the Tenderfoots out of the forest. Along the way, both teams will participate in some fun games, wilderness activities like hiking and rafting, have some time at the swimming hole, and hear some good preaching.

Camp Rentals

Open Season

Camp Fairview is available for several weeks and weekends to be used by independent Baptist church groups.

It is our great privilege at Camp Fairview to rent our facilities and staff to likeminded church groups. Have you ever wished that you could design your own camp program? Pick the speakers that you feel your group needs to hear? Choose the games and activities that are best suited to your group? Decide on your own music, schedule, food, etc. Renting Camp Fairview may be your solution.Imagine what could happen with a week away from the world’s infl uences; an entire week to train your people. At Camp Fairview you will be able to have camp with your group, however you want it to be.You will also nd: 1. Great camp facilities. Camp Fairview is located on 150 acres in

Athens, TN where you will fi nd everything you need to have camp. Our cabins,

bath house, pool, auditorium and more will be newly renovated for the 2010

camp season. At our camp you will fi nd hiking trails, sports fi elds, outdoor and

indoor meeting areas, everything that you need to have camp. We even have

special accommodations for speakers.

2. Quick access to the outdoor activities of the Smoky Mountain National Park. Camp Fairview is only about 20 miles

from the Cherokee National Forest. Rafting on the Hiwassee

and Ocoee Rivers, spelunking at the Lost Sea, and

hiking in the Smoky Mountains are just a

few of the outings within a short drive

from our camp. If that isn’t enough

for you, Chattanooga, Gatlinburg,

Pigeon Forge, and Knoxville are

all manageable day trips from our

camp.

3. A great location within a

we don’t scrimp on food. We make

every eff ort to feed your group

good food, and lots of it. Providing

at home.

Christian camps charge as much as

$260 a week per camper. At Camp

Fairview, we charge less than half of

that, $120 a camper. A minimum of
