Public Speaking Finalists Well done to Grace, Austin, Andrew and Charles who represented the school at last term’s Zone Public Speaking Final. All students had to complete both a prepared speech and undertake an impromptu speech (see below for topics).

The staff and students of Camden Public School are looking forward to our Grandparents’ and Great Friends’ Morning Tea on Tuesday 19 November 2019. We invite you to join us at 9.45am under the COLA to view a performance of the school band followed by visits to your grandchild/grandchildren’s classrooms, and concluding with morning tea from 11.00-11.40am.

7 do not need to re-apply if they:

are continuing at the same school

are residing at the same address

have not been sent an expiry notification from

Transport for NSW.

This form does not need to be returned if your child is continuing as normal in 2020.

Gala Day Jerseys Thank you to the families who have already returned their gala day jerseys. If your child still has a jersey at home, could you please return it to the school office as soon as possible?

School Swimming and Water Safety Program (Yrs 2-6) Yesterday students received a note outlining the details of the School Swimming Scheme which will begin on Monday 9 December and continue through to Wednesday 18 December 2019.

Fete Update

There are only 13 school days to go before our fete!

Raffle Tickets

Could families please return their fete raffle tickets to the office by Friday 25 October? This includes any unsold tickets, as they will hopefully be sold by volunteers over the next two Saturdays, at Camden, Narellan Town Centre and Narellan Bunnings.

On Saturday 26 October there are timeslots available at both Narallen Town Centre and Narellan Bunnings.

Ride Bands The last day to pre-puchase ride bands ($25.00) is Wednesday 6 November, through the school office. Ride bands can be puchased during the fete for $30.00.

Cake Donations for School Fete A note was distributed to students yesterday asking for donations for our fete cake stall. If you are able to help out by making any of the delicious cakes or slices listed on the note, please fill out the reply slip and return it to the school office. Thanking you in advance.

Fete Sponsorship Attached to this newsletter is a list of all the wonderful businesses who have kindly sponsored our 2019 school fete. Please support these businesses where possible.

Class Stall Donations Thank you to families who have sent in class stall donations. If you haven’t sent in a donation, it isn’t too late to do so.

Eskies and Shade Shelters Required We require a small number of eskies and shade shelters during the fete. If you are able to help out, could you contact the school office this week.

Year 7 Selective High School 2021 Expression of Interest Selective high schools are one strategy used by the Department of Education to cater for the learning needs of gifted and talented students.

If you would like to apply for selective high school placement in Year 7 2021 on behalf of your child you will need to apply online at https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-7

Applications for entry in 2021 can be made online between Tuesday 8 October 2019 and Monday 11 November 2019. Late applications will not be accepted.

All applicants are required to sit the Selective High School Placement Test to be held on Thursday 12 March 2020.

Gala Day Sports Reports

T BALL

It was a great day because everybody had lots of fun. We

scored 19 points on the first game, 9 points on the second

game and 1 point in the last game. We lost the first, won the

second and lost the third. It was a great day.

SOFTBALL

The gala day was great. One of the highlights of the day was

when JD and Isaac striked out so many people. We won and

the score was 6-0. We would like to thank Mrs Sedmak and

Mrs Todorovic for coming.

CRICKET – PURPLE JUNIORS

Isaac was a fabulous player. Ellie was a fabulous bowler. David

scored 4 runs. Amber got someone out without realising it. It

was a great day.

Bradley and Jack both went for the ball and crashed into each

other. We all had a great day.

CRICKET – MURRAY JUNIORS

Everyone played extremely good and everyone had great

sportsmanship. Even if people did not hit the ball they still had

a smile on their face and it was a great day for cricket. Thank

you teachers for making this day happen.

Beau and Lachlan had great bowling even though we did not win any games, we had the time of our lives. A big thank you to Mrs Prince, Mrs Worthington and Mrs Murray for helping out. Three cheers. Zara

Ella scored 16 points in the 3 gala days which was great. Gus

made sure everyone had a turn at running and Trinity had

some good runs. Everybody put in a great effort over the gala

days and everybody is proud that we came second.

OZTAG – JUNIOR C We all played well and were happy. We were runners up and we were all very proud of ourselves. Congratulations to everybody and thank you to Mrs Dunshea and Mr Munday for taking care of us at last week’s gala day.

SENIOR C’S Mr Munday was proud of our teams sportsmanship. He was proud we played as good team members and how we swapped without any issues or problems. We thank Ms Price, Sienna and Mr Munday for a good day. Georgia SENIOR B’S Throughout all three gala days the Senior B’s team had a fair share of runs. Even though we lost three games we showed amazing sportsmanship on and off the field. We had loads and loads of fun! Thank you Ms Price, Mr Pope and Sienna for helping us out. Olivia and Ashley
